Exactly 92 years from today on the 28th of Asad 1298, the biggest imperialist force of 19th and 20th century, the British colonialists officially recognized a sovereign Afghanistan and after decades of war and chaos, the Afghan people gained their greatest aspiration (Afghan Independence).

On the occasion of this monumental and historical day, the Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would like to whole heartedly congratulate the faithful and freedom loving Afghan nation. May Allah Almighty also grant us the blessing of Independence from the current American occupation as swiftly as possible.

The Afghan nation’s eighty year old resistance and struggle for Independence against the British is a very important chapter of our history and it holds important lessons. If the decade’s old war, invasion, failures and successes of freedom seeking Afghans against the English occupiers is studied thoroughly, a lot can be learnt from it for the solution of the current crisis. At that time, the British occupation project prolonged for decades with repeated failures and headaches because even at that time, just like now, the enemy counted on its few puppets and hirelings instead of the decision and will of the Afghan nation. Instead of trying to understand the position and stance of the Afghan nation, the English only did deals with its own hirelings and dreamt of occupying this land with guarantees made by them.

Unfortunately, the American invaders are repeating the same experiment. They fantasize that making a deal with their few agents about permanent presence will somehow give it ethical permission and dampen the moral of the resistance. But they must realize that such important issues cannot be decided by a few of their agents and neither will this champion nation put down its neck and make a deal on such matters. The Afghan nation is currently busy in a broad struggle for the independence of its land and has given countless sacrifices for this cause for the past ten years. If the enemies of the Afghan people want to avoid being entangled in a perpetual conflict then they must have respect for the ambitions of the people and to recognize the independence of the Afghan nation. And if it wants to continue with its arbitrary policies, it will not gain anything apart from facing the fate of the British occupiers.

On the occasion of the proud day of 28th of Asad, we must remind our nation that the right to independence is our Natural, Human and Religious right. We are servants only to Allah Almighty and no other power has the right to rule over us. Jihad against the arrogant Infidel invaders is our religious duty. Whatever fate we face in this way will guarantee our religious and worldly honor. So it is necessary for us to concentrate even more on our initiated struggle for independence so with the blessings of Divine victory, we expel the occupiers from our country.
