It is well known that every year from all over the world leaders of the state go to New York to participate in the periodical meeting of the General Assembly, where they discuss issues of internal, regional and international nature. They try to find solutions. Sometime they accuse one another and warnings are exchanged. The 67th meeting of the General Assembly was inaugurated last Tuesday (September 27, 2012) as usual.

Some points of the agenda were:

International economic development, peace and security, strengthening of justice, law and human rights...…disarmament……active participation and organization of governments and NGOs to curb the so called terrorism……etc.

In reality the greatest form of terrorism in the present day world is state terrorism; indiscriminate bombing of civilian people; horrifying women, children, aged people and public by drones; interference in others affairs under the name of self defense; destroying others homes, villages and cities thousands kilometers away by different missiles and so on.

The greatest challenge for the United Nations Organization is the restoration of justice and fairness in the world. Justice and equity not only guarantees world’s peace and stability but also restore the credibility of this organization. If this organization carries on taking decisions under the pressure of powerful states against the weak, then no one will expect justice and equity from it. This organization should stop the cruel or at least should resist them.

The United Nations Organization (established on October 24, 1945) has passed many resolutions regarding Afghanistan but two of them are worth mentioning. The first one was passed on January 14, 1980, condemning the then Soviet Union invasion over Afghanistan and demanding the withdrawal of all external forces from Afghanistan. This resolution was welcomed by the Afghans and they had a soft corner for the United Nations Organization.

But the second decision was just opposite the first one which justified the foreign invasion and supported this filthy action. This decision (dated 12 September 2001) will be remembered in the Afghan history as permitting the rebellious forces to invade other countries under the lame excuse of self defense. This decision paved the road for Americans and their allied to invade Afghanistan. After that, every year they took decisions supporting the trespassers and continuing the bloodshed.

The latter decision deteriorated the relationship between the Afghan Nation and the United Nations. The previous credibility was harmed. Therefore the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants to draw the attention of this organization towards a reality, and that is to assist the Afghan nation instead of supporting the invaders and corrupt elements. It should condemn the America and its allied occupation of our beloved country. It should strive for the self sovereignty of the Afghan nation and let them form an Islamic government free from all external influences. These kinds of efforts can revive the reliability of this organization among the oppressed nations.
