JAKARTA – It is finally official, Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'syir (ABB ) is being detained by the Mabes Polri today, Wednesday (11/8). The Polri is also already entrapping Ustadz with the article of a death penalty. Meanwhile, Ustadz ABB himself is relaxed in accepting those demands. The fight still continues!

Ustadz ABB Officially Arrested

It did not need to take long, the Polri is ultimately formally arresting the Amir of the Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT), Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'syir. The Polri claimed to have had strong evidences of the involvement of Ustadz Ba'asyir in the Aceh 'terrorist' network.

"It is already official (the detention)," Commissioner General of Police, Ito Sumardi told the journalists when intercepted at the building of Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Body, Jl Trunojoyo, South Jakarta, Wednesday (11/8/2010).

Ito explained, investigators have strong evidences that show Ustadz's involvement in funding the military training in Aceh. However, Ito is still not sure how much the amount of funds supplied by Ustadz ABB was, in order to finance the operations.

"I certainly do not know, what's clear is that he delivered it through someone or other party. The terminology is, 'basically, please support'. It's already a command," Ito explained.

"Then there was also a flow of funds (from the relevant)," he continued.

Without any delay, Ustadz ABB has been snared by all the existing terrorism Law Articles i.e. article 14, sub articles 7, 9, 11, and/or article 11 and/or article 15 sub articles 7, 9, 11 and/or article 13 letter a, letter b, letter c, Law No. 15 year 2003 about the Eradication of Terrorism. What punishment is promised for him? Death Penalty!

Ustadz ABB Just Relaxed

Ustadz ABB himself is relaxed in hearing the demand of death penalty put on him. "He just accepts it. He is relaxed," lawyer of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, Mahendradatta, said, Tuesday night (10/8/2010).

Mahendra added, it is useless to fight or defend himself, because all are designed by a section of the Polri. This is as what Ustadz ABB had said when interrogated by the investigators of the Mabes Polri.

"No matter what I say, I will still be thrown into prison, please do as you like to determine my fate in this world!" Mahendra said, mimicking the words of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir.

According to Mahendra, this is not the first time that he was charged with bombastic articles. It has been repeated times that this white-bearded man was charged with horrific terror acts through a series of bombings in the homeland. Now, when Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir is charged with the involvement in the military trainings in Aceh, this is not surprising anymore for Mahendra.

"Surely, there is a small group of actors in the body of Polri who were not happy when he was freed" Mahendra pointed.

The Team Of Muslim Lawyers (TPM) will do it all-out in defending Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir. But in this month of Ramadan, Ba'asyir asked so that there would be not too much argumentative rebuttal. The TPM parties agreed to this request.

"We are moving again after Ramadan. Just relax, this need not be too serious" Mahendra explained.

Police Are Manipulating Evidences

With regards to the accusations of the Polri who are too sure that Ustadz ABB is linked to the financing of Aceh, a spokesman of JAT denied it. Son Hadi the spokesman of Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) said that the police are manipulating the evidences to ensnare Ustadz Ba'asyir.

"On what basis is the determining of the defendant? If it is the video recording, it could be made up anytime," he said, Wednesday (11/8/2010).

Concerning the video that Son meant, Mabes Polri claimed to have pocketed a video that proves the involvement of the Amir of the Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT), Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, in the military trainings of the 'terrorists' in Aceh.

Further, Son annunciated that there is a special scenario which is being played by the authorities with the police.

"Ustadz was arrested two days after SBY admitted of getting threats. There's something here," he explained.

He added that the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir in a time close to the month of Ramadan, is feared to cause provocation on the Islamic ummah who are in the midst of performing the ibaadah of sawm (fasting). Because, Ustadz does not only have the Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) but he also have the ummah. The Islamic ummah will never be willing if their ulama's are tyrannized just like that. They would surely fight back and demand justice. Allahu Akbar!
