JAKARTA – Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir (ABB), on Wednesday (25/05/2011), read himself the pledoi (defense document) against the life sentence sought by the JPU (public prosecutors) at the District Court of South Jakarta. Ustadz ABB also plans to hold a public tausiyah with the theme “Establishing Tawheed, Eradicating Shirk”. Allahu Akbar!

Funds to build a Masjid in Gaza

In his pledoi, Ustadz ABB said that the fund in the amount of Rp. 150 millions, which has been blamed for the financing of the armed training in Aceh, turned out to have been donated to the Mer-C for the building of a masjid in Gaza, Palestine.

The fund, according to him, was donated through the president of Mer-C, Joserizal Jurnalis, in March 2011, when Ustadz ABB was being detained at the detention center of the Police Bareskrim (Criminal Investigation).

Earlier before that, when met at his special detention cell in the District Court of South Jakarta, Ustadz ABB said that he never knew Mohammad Syarif, the shaheed bomber of the Police HQ in Cirebon, on 15th April.

“That statement is without basis, I don't know him,” he asserted.

Besides denying knowing M Syarief, Ustadz ABB, who is also the chairman of the Ngruki Pondok Pesantren (traditional Islamic boarding school), also said that the propagated rumour which purported that he knows the shaheed bomber of Cirebon Police HQ, is a big fitnah.

“That is fitnah, the police are the stooges of America, I have not been asked for an explanation by the police,” he said.Establishing Tawheed, Eradicating Shirk

Ustadz Sonhadi, the Director of the JAT Media Center, concluded that the lifetime sentence sought against Ustadz ABB was meant to stop Ustadz ABB from carrying out da'wah until he dies.

“In essence, the life sentence they sought clearly accentuated the aim so that he can no longer deliver tawheed da'wah and eradicate shirk in this country,” he said, Wednesday (25/5/2011).

The life sentence they sought according to him is the proof that the government of Indonesia is the governance of ‘satan’ which, if in power, will systematically attempt to remove the tawheed from the people.

“And then they will be made to plunge into darkness i.e. shirk, kufr, munkar and ma'siat (sins/bad deeds). Therefore it is wajib upon the Islamic ummah to reject them and it is forbidden to live under the leadership of Thaghut.”

The following are the tadzkirah (words of advice) and taujih (briefings, instructions, guidelines) by Ustadz ABB to the thaghut government and the Muslims, summarized from the JAT Media Center.

1. The JAT (Jama’ah Ansarut Tawheed) is not a people organization but a form of practicing the Ibaadah, because Allah and His Rasul orders the Muslims to live in a jama'ah not divided. A Jama’ah is a living system that is taught by Allah and His Rasul, so the JAT is a jama’ah in the framework of practicing the commands of Allah and His Rasul for Ibaadah, not an organization that is conceptualized for the preparation of armed training in Aceh, as the prosecutor alleges.

2. The charge made by the prosecutor, which says that Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir had met with Dulmatin and raised funds for the armed training in Aceh, is a fitnah. All those allegations are only aimed at strengthening the fabrication that Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir was involved in the armed training in Aceh. Where later, in a unjust manner, a lifetime sentence was sought by the prosecutors against Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir. Whereas, the life sentence they sought is obviously meant to stop him from carrying out Tawheed Da'wah and eradicating the shirk on the ummah.

3. The characteristic of a Thaghut ruler is, when he is in power, he will attempt systematically to separate people from the light of life i.e. tawheed, iman and ma’ruf, and to be dumped into the darkness of life i.e. shirk, kufr, munkar and ma'siat, therefore it is wajib for the Islamic ummah to reject it and it is haram to live under the leadership of Thaghut.

To the Ruler, Judges, Prosecutors, Densus 88 who are Kufr and takabur (arrogant), advices and wills had been conveyed and do’a have been offered by KH. Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, an ulama' who is oppressed. Remember, when do'a was offered during the previous exception (memorandum of appeal), Japan was destroyed by Tsunami not long after, then be prepared to wait for the decision of ALLAH SWT and the promise of ALLAH SWT is certainly true.
