Sheikh Usamah Bin Ladin, The 'Lion of Islam' With a Tender Heart
Rajab 05, 1433 A.H, Sunday, May 27, 2012
His Tender Heart
America and its minions surely consider this one man as the greatest, most
wanted kingpin of the ‘terrorists’ of all time. To pursue this figure of man
with skinny body, the U.S. have to spend billions of dollars and in an 'unmanly'
manner, storm Afghanistan all out.
Obvious, ‘unmanly’ under the pretext of 'war on terror', America invited its
allies under the banner of NATO to storm as they like the
Daulah Islam (Islamic State) which was
under the administration of the Mujahids of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,
for protecting a ‘terrorist’ named Usamah bin Ladin.
Amazing, as admitted by NATO's warlord, American General Stanley McChrystal, the
'ganging up' action by the allied forces turned out to be far from victory.
We also see, how some Muslims themselves assess the figure of Usamah bin Ladin.
Among those who profess as salafi (salafi
maz’um), they, without hesitation, ferociously reviled that Usamah bin
Ladin is conducting fie sabilish shaithan.
Abdul Muhsin Al Abbad when asked; “Is
Usamah bin Ladin a Mujahid?” he answered:
كيف مجاهد؟!
“How could he be called a Mujahid? Na’am, he is
a Mujahid in the path of shaithan. Usamah bin Ladin has brought a great
catastrophe for the Muslims. There is no doubt that his death brings tranquility
to the Muslims. The human race became more peaceful with his departure,”
he answered.
In fact even Aidh Al Qarni, an ulama'
who is known through his book, laa tahzan,
which touches the heart, is so blunt in denying the martyrdom (shaheed
death) of Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin to the extent that he denounces him by
saying that he is upon the manhaj takfiir wa
tafjiir (likes to declare others kafir
and bomb).
However, among the Muslims, there are certainly still
ulama's who are able to see the figure
of Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin through their
basirah, seeing him objectively and defending him. Sheikh Abdullah Al
Jibrin -rahimahullah- when asked whether
Sheikh Usamah belongs to the people who do mischief as charged by Sheikh bin Baz?
So he answered softly:
“Sheikh bin Baz never said that, it is just an
utterance that is accused on him (as if it was him who said that). It is not
possible for Sheikh bin Baz to say things like that and it is not proper for a
Muslim to say that..!!!
Usamah bin Ladin is someone who is conducting
jihad in Allah's cause since long ago and he has given his earnestness in his
jihad in Afghanistan. May Allah bestow taufiq on him, help him and make Islam
triumphant through him. He, to this day, still continues the jihad."
As for him declaring (the rulers of Muslim
countries) kafir, that is a part of his ijtihad, where he declares kafir (tajfir)
some countries which he has carefully observed and he found out many things
(which relates with that kufr). However, it could not necessarily be said that
due to this (ijtihad), he is then called as someone who does damages on earth or
various other similar phrases.” Thus was the
fatwa of Sheikh Abdullah Al Jibrin.
Among the Muslims, there are also those who are being diffident by saying that,
though not agreeing with Sheikh Usamah, yet he is still a Mujahid.
As for the International Mujahideen, this man who was born in Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia, on 10th March 1957, is a pioneering Mujahid and Mujaddid. In around
1979, after completing his study in Civil Engineering at the University of King
Abdul Aziz, Jeddah, he began his jihad works of expelling the Communist Soviet
Union from the soil of Afghanistan. Not only with property, he also sold his
soul to Allah to conduct jihad.
He left the luxury in his country of origin, Saudi Arabia, heading for the
barren valleys on the slopes of the mountains of Afghanistan. He did not waste
his abundant wealth, he used it to finance the camps to facilitate the
Mujahideens from various countries to conduct
i’dad, and jihad at the same time.
Biidznillah, the struggles of the
Mujahideen then received the help from Allah. The Soviet Union thus withdrew its
forces and the last withdrawal took place on 2nd February 1989.
The Soviet Union announced that all of their troops had been withdrawn from
Afghanistan on 15th February 1989. The Soviets had to leave the soil of
Afghanistan by bringing back defeats, not just defeats but the Communist country
which was a super power in its time also suffered terrible losses, in fact even
its prosperity was shaken off, as a result it split into smaller countries.
Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin had a chance to return to his country, Saudi Arabia.
Although briefly received as a hero, he eventually faced a bitter reality when
his critical attitude towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at that time resulted
in the revocation of his citizenship and hence he became a wanted person.
During the Gulf War at that time, the Saudi king also preferred to join forces
with America to protect the country rather than being defended by the Arab
Mujahideen, the alumnus of Afghanistan led by Usamah bin Ladin.
In the book, Taujihat Manhajiyah vol. III,
compiled by Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin, it mentions what king Fahd bin Abdul
Aziiz had said in his khutbah on
18/1/1411 H, that was when the open colonization of the country of
Haramain started, at that time he said:
“…O my brothers, it is a very unfortunate event
– the attacks on Kuwait – carried out by Iraq, led to the assembly of the great
forces on the borders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And in facing this bitter
reality and departing from the Kingdom's determination to save its territory and
to maintain the important elements of life and its economy… The Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia is stating its intention to join the Arab forces who have become its
brothers and friends, where the Government of America has joined, as was done by
the Government of United Kingdom and other countries on the basis of friendly
relations established between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and those countries."
Sheikh Usamah was not able to keep silent, when looking at Al Haramain
now colonized by the thaghut
America, the same goes with Al Aqsa which is in the grips of the Jews. He thus
issued a fatwa and jihad against
America.
In the book, Aqsaamul Ilmi Alladzi Huwa Fardhu
'Ain, which was compiled by Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin, he declared war
against America for its wide range of oppressions and colonizations, especially
in the case of Al Haramain and Al Aqsa.
“O our brothers, the Muslims all over the
world! Indeed your brothers in the countries of Haramain and Palestine have
asked for your help, and demanded your shares in the jihad that they have
inflamed against their enemies and your enemies from among the people of Israel
and America, with various means of attacks that could drive them out from the
holy lands of Islam in a state of defeated and humiliated. All of that is in
accordance with your ability. Allah Ta'ala says:
“And if they seek help of you
for the religion, then you must help.” (QS. Al Anfaal : 72).
So O soldiers of Allah, come forward! The time
has come to attack, so attack, know that your unity and your mutual assistance
for the sake of liberating the sanctity of Islam is a right step to unite the
ummah under the banner of the kalimah of tawheed.”
Of course, the consequence of this appeal was the making of the price of Sheikh
Usamah bin Ladin's head as high as 25 millions US Dollar. He became the number
one wanted man for the thaghut America
and its stooges all over the world.
Sudan had become his place of berth for a while, but it was very unfortunate, it
turned out that the leader of that country was more afraid of America than Allah
Ta’ala. Sheikh Usamah then made
hijrah to Afghanistan again and gave
bai'at to the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah
Muhammad Umar.
This is the bitter reality of his struggle, but with the permission of Allah,
with the limited strength and the Mujahids, they remained firm upon the jihad
fie sabilillah.
What’s interesting on the personality of Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin was his calm
character and the softness of his heart, that he was a person who easily cry. He
was not a person who had a loud voice and talked fiery, but was still firm in
his attitude.
We could see that attitude from the various videos that were distributed in the
cyberworld. The Mujahideen who ever met him acknowledge his polite attitude and
the tenderness of his heart.
Sheikh Ayman Azh Zhawahiri (Amir of
Tanzhim Al Qaidah, the successsor of
Sheikh Usamah) in his khutbah video
published by As Sahab with the title, Ayyamu
Ma’al Imam, told how Sheikh Usamah ever asked him about his self who
often shed his tear.
“Ash-Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin was known to
easily shed his tear or cry. One day he asked for my opinion, he said to me,
“Some ikhwah said, ‘Sometimes you speak, then your tears drop first. If only you
(can) hold back (the tears) a little.’
And then he asked me, “What's your opinion?”
I said, “O Sheikh, this is a rahmah (grace)
that Allah places in your heart. This is a gift from Allah Subhaanahu wa ta’aala
that He bestows to you.” Sheikh Ayman said in the video.
Subhanallah, also in that video, Sheikh
Ayman related how Sheikh Usamah cried when there was a Palestinian boy in a
protest who demanded the promise made by Sheikh Usamah.
Actually, the story disclosed by Sheikh Ayman can be found in full in the
kitab,
Ushaqul Huur Ila Biladil Afrah, which was compiled by Sheikh Salih Al
Hami (Abu Qudamah). The book which has 878 pages and published on 7th March 2007
(29 Safar 1429 H) contains a chapter entitled,
Qissatun Abkat Al Qaid Ash Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin hatta Aghma ‘Alaih
(The Story of the Cry of A leader, Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin Until He Passed Out
), here's the story.
“I have seen this story circulated in one of
the jihadi forums, but I don 't remember who initiated it. Assalamu’alaikum
warahmatullah wa barakatuh, here is a story that made Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin
cry.
One day he was preparing the jihad programs and
studying the layouts, suddenly a young man thrusted a laptop towards him and
said, “O Sheikh! We want to show something to you.”
He said: “Show it to us.” However as usual, he
had a strange feeling with something new and the expression of his face started
to change. So the young man spoke, and everybody was silent, listening to what
the youth was saying. And when the youth took and began preparing his laptop,
the face of Sheikh Usamah changed even more, until the laptop was really ready
to be used.
The youth ‘clicked’ on a video file and
increased the volume. Apparently the first image that came up in the video was
that of a small boy.
The anger of a child was reflected in the
video, which would touch the heart of every Mu'min. The little boy was wearing a
kafayeh, typical of Palestinians, and holding a picture of Bin Ladin, he was
pointing at that picture and said in a hard voice while weeping that made the
heart feel sliced, “Where is your promise O Usamah?”
And then he repeated it: “Where is your promise
O Usamah?” Thus Usamah also cried and sobs could be heard like the cry of a
person who has lost something most beloved by his heart, and then we comforted
him.
And he said in a loud voice, “What do you want
Usamah to do, indeed the world is congregating to capture him.”
He continued to repeat it until his beard
became wet from the tears, then we comforted him and we also cried with him
until the assembly changed into an assembly of lamentation, like a mother
lamenting in pain as her only child is gone.
Hence we got angry with the ikhwan who provided the film just now, and we
reproached him for what he did to Sheikh Usamah. Not long after that the Sheikh
fainted, then he was taken to his house.
He continued to cry and fell ill for three
days. Every time he woke up, he always remembered the picture of the little boy
who cried, then he cried again and the sobs of his cry could be heard.
The person who told this said: “Indeed, we do
not remember this story except like the story of Umar who was ill because of a
single sentence or attitude that affected him.” Wallahu a’lam.
The person who told this story was one of the
companions of Usamah bin Ladin who accompanied him in the cave of Tora Bora.
Behold how good and soft the hearts of Usamah was. How many people who are
shaheed and the lions who hope from Allah has he presented, to get his reward
and their rewards. He was truly a commander and a hero. Allah exalts him, so
there are people who envy and make people hate him.
Behold how good the commander and the father of
the shuhada's is. This is Usamah, so who are you O thaghut if you assemble all
human beings.” The story ends here.
Sheikh Ayman suspected, the promise that was uttered by Sheikh Usamah which got
him to cry, was his very famous remarks:
ألي إخواننا في فلسطين نقول لهم: إن دماء أبنائكم هي دماء أبنائنا وأن دمائكم
دمائنا فالدم الدم والهدم الهدم ونشهد الله العظيم أننا لن نخذلكم حتى يتم النصر أو
نذوق مما ذاق منه حمزة بن عبد المطلب رضي َ الله عنه
“To our brothers in Palestine, we say to you,
'Indeed, the blood of your sons is the blood of our sons, and, indeed, your
blood is our blood, as blood is blood, and destruction is destruction. And we
testify before Allah the Magnificent that we will not abandon you until victory
is achieved or we taste what Hamza bin Abdulmutallib tasted, may Allah be
pleased with him.”
From the nobleness of his attitude, it's no wonder if
Ash Shaheed Sheikh Abdullah Azzam -rahimahullah-
praised him much through his remark which was compiled in the book,
Fi zhilali Suratit Taubah:
“And on this occasion we
ask Allaah Ta’ala to protect our brother, Abu Abdullah Usamah Bin Ladin; it's
this man, both my eyes never saw a man such as this throughout the world.”
However, now matter how noble and great Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin was, he's still
an ordinary human being. Allah Ta’ala
apparently loves him more, tanzhim Qa’idatul
jihad thus confirmed the martyrdom of Sheikh Usamah on Sunday, 1st May
2011.
Just like the incident of the martyrdom of Imam Hasan Al Bana, the people of
America were cheering, they took to the streets to express their joy on the
death of Usamah bin Ladin.
Indeed, this euphoria of the American is a clear proof of their hatred against
the Mujahideen, especially Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin. Therefore there was nothing
wrong with the fatwa of Sheikh Usamah
that he once delivered when interviewed by Taisir Ulwani, a television reporter
of Al Jazeera, on 21st October 2001.
“We are doing jihad for the interests of His
religion. We hope that Allah accepts our deeds and your deeds.
As for the Muslims, I say to them: They must
believe in the help of Allah SWT. And they should answer the commandments of
Allah SWT and the commands of His Rasul SAW, to conduct jihad against the
international kufr. Because by Allah, the lucky people on this day are those who
are chosen by Allah to die shaheed.
The lucky people are those given the chance to
stand under the banner of Muhammad SAW, under the banner of Islam, to fight
against the international Crusaders. Let any man come forward to kill the Jews
and the Americans. Because indeed, killing them is among the foremost
obligations and the greatest ibaadah.
And they should always remember the teachings
of the Prophet SAW. He SAW had said to Ibnu ‘Abbas RA who was still young:
“Young man, I shall teach you
some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be
mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of
Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the Nation were to
gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with
something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and that if they gather
together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something
Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages
have dried.”
So let you not discuss with anyone to kill the
American people. Walk with the permission of Allah, and remember His promise to
you, to make you side by side with the best Prophet (Muhammad) SAW,”
explained Sheikh Usamah in that interview.
Though the death of Sheikh Usamah was a blow to the Mujahideen, but the jihad
struggle of the ‘Lion of Islam’ of this century does not stop with his death, as
written in the jihad forum, Al Ansar, in
order to rekindle the spirit of jihad;
"Whosoever worships
Usamah, Usamah has died and whosoever is doing jihad in Allah's cause, then
surely Allah is alive and will not die."
The attitude of the Mujahideen who continue to maintain this spirit of jihad was
also contained in the release by Al Fajr Media
when confirming the martyrdom of Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin.
“If the light of Islam and Jihad can be
extinguished with the killing or the death of an individual, surely the light
would have disappeared since the day of the death of the leader of mankind,
Muhammad SAW, when many Arabs became murtad then, or surely its pages would have
been closed since the day Amirul Mu'minin Umar was soaked in blood on his mihrab,
Utsman in front of his mushaf and Ali im the street -may Allah be pleased with
them all-.
How many… and how many Commanders have been
walking upon their guidance, who have filled the Earth with their conquest and
their jihad, whether it be in the Eastern part or the West. The light of truth
will never be extinguished with their death or the turning back of their
followers after their death.
On the contrary, with their death, they are
getting angrier against their enemies and will continue to conduct retaliatory
actions, and the Banner of Truth is in their hands while they are chanting the
verses of their Lord:
مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ
مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلا
“Among the believers are men
true to what they promised Allah . Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow
[to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not
alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration.” (QS. Al-Ahzab :
23).
May Allah Ta'ala continue to produce
generations like Usamah bin Ladin, who conduct jihad with their wealth, souls
and words.
