Wednesday (22/9) afternoon, a fierce confrontation between the angry Palestinian youths and the armed Zionist settlers, continued in various neighborhoods in the village of Silwan in the city of al-Quds. This tension occurred following the murder of a Palestinian youth, Samir Serhan on Wednesday morning, who was shot by one of the new Zionist settlers who was later freed by the Israeli military.

Local sources from al-Quds said that the confrontation was centered in the village of Wadi Halwa where there are complexes of settlement colony. Eye witnesses said that the Palestinian youth threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at the settlement colony in Silwan, as an expression of their anger over the firing on the Palestinian residents by the armed guards of the Zionist settlers and which had killed a youth, Samir Serhan (32), a father of 5 from the village of Bustan. An Israeli soldier was reportedly wounded in the confrontation.

The Israeli forces deployed their personnels in large numbers to the said village along with the Israeli police forces who closed a number of gates to the village and fired tear gases towards the Palestinian people.
