To The South African Government: “Between The Two Oceans Is A Barrier”
16-09-2008
Muslims in South Africa are the latest to come under
the label of “terrorists’ with their homes being raided under the auspicious of
‘terrorism”. What follows is a letter to the South African government from one
of those who has been accused.
To The South African Government: “Between The Two Oceans Is A Barrier”
All praise is unto Allah and peace and blessings be upon Jesus the son of Mary
and upon Muhammad the Messengers of Allah
To proceed: Peace be upon those who follow the guidance.
To the government of South Africa; This talk to you is about important matters
the essence of which is the pondering and examination of the foundation of South
Africa’s way of life, namely Capitalist Democracy.
This discussion comes after a group of Muslims including myself were accused of
what your police called high treason and terrorism. Before I begin I would like
to say that neither I nor the brothers raided with me have committed a crime
against the well-being of South Africa nor do we have such intentions and so we
deny these accusations. In fact the concern of all Muslims is the well being of
humanity and the eradication of the causes that lead to their suffering and to
this end we are commanded to struggle.
But the events of recent years make it clear that South Africa is very quickly
and at an increasing pace heading towards hell and destruction and this after it
was believed that it would be a model to the world in different nations living
side by side in harmony. But your rainbow was only a mirage and the suffering of
millions from poverty and the increasing gap between rich and poor, the
insecurity felt by every last citizen, the continuous murder of little children
let alone adults, and the disappearance of morals and religion are all chilling
and dangerous testimonies to the failure of your secular system.
And so with the current chaotic situation in South Africa as the background I
say that problems are best cured from their roots and it is therefore of utmost
importance for you to ask yourselves the question; does the foundation upon
which South Africa today is built, provide for the well-being of humanity or
does it on the contrary lead to their suffering and despair?
And it is known that the economy is the backbone of any nation and all things
that God has put in the earth is meant for the benefit of all with the
government taking up the responsibility of administering its just distribution.
But today through deliberate policies which you have taken, South Africa has
witnessed unparalleled poverty to the extent that it holds the record of having
the widest gap between rich and poor in the world. Your GEAR Privatization
policies for example have caused the loss of millions of jobs and the handing
over of important resources to a few corporations whose allegiances lie in
Europe and America.
So over the years of your rule there has been a steady widening of the gap
between rich and poor which crosses the race and cultural barriers to indicate
that South Africa has moved from a racial dictatorship to an economic one and
those who suffer continue to be the South African people.
Poverty is a crime especially in a land with abundant resources such as South
Africa and the responsibility lies at your doorstep and it is with this
sentiment in mind that a prominent anti-apartheid activist and economist said
that Trevor Manuel, your minister of finance, should be tried as a war criminal.
So is there amongst you anyone who is prepared to contemplate the indescribable
misery endured by tens of millions of your citizens; the heartache of parents
unable to provide for their children, the burden on men unable to find jobs and
of those whose wages are insufficient to live as free men should?
When will the songs of Senzeni na “What have we done?” finally penetrate your
hearts so that you seriously reexamine the capitalist promises made by you to
the crusader corporations?
And if the reasons behind the poverty of non European nations under the
Apartheid governments are known, what reason and what excuse is there for the
suffering today of all nations under your government?
There is no excuse but the reason is clear: The
Imperialism of Europe and America has not ended and has only become worse and
the proof lies in the painful contrast between the suffering masses and the
wealth of Anglo-American for example.
And in the face of your continuous praise of democracy, is there amongst you one
who will answer the embarrassing question posed to you: If the majority of the
people are dependant on a few who own the resources for wages and work, where
then is the equality between all that democracy presupposes exists?
This inequality combined with the shoving down our throats of American and
European lack of morals has brought insecurity and crime to this land to the
extent that South Africa has one of the highest violent crime rates in the world
and the responsibility lies at your doorstep.
A shepherd is responsible for his flock but today the people are under-siege in
their own homes and are easy prey to criminal wolves and the women and children
who suffer the most from crime are your responsibility.
The Brutal murders of Michaela Roussow, Anastasia, Baby Jordan, Sasha and Rafiq
Hardien among thousands of other little children are all blood chilling
testimonies to the failure of your capitalist democracy
so when will you take heed and review your opening up of
South Africa’s doors to the bloodsuckers of America and Europe?
And how strange it was that when the Muslims of South Africa decided to protect
their lives, security and dignity against some of these criminals, you clamped
down on them, accused them of high treason, imprisoned them and it was all
sealed with America labeling them as terrorists.
And regarding this word, let us ponder their use of this word together: A recent
report showed that America has close to a million suspected terrorists on their
database and even Nelson Mandela was only recently taken off their list. So if
they accuse a million people around the world of wanting to spread bloodshed and
blind destruction by their use of this word then any right minded person will
say this is laughable. But if by their use of this word
they are claiming that Muslims are a people who are willing and prepared to
fight off the American led Crusader-Zionest onslaught against the worlds
oppressed then I say yes by the Lord of Masjidul Aqsa they are right.
It is them who have the blood of over a million Iraqi children on their hands,
it is them who support the illegitimate Zionist entity unconditionally against
our suffering brothers and sisters in Palestine and it is them who are
continuing to rob Africa of its wealth and are turning its free people into
slaves. Who can believe they have good intentions in
Darfur and Zimbabwe at the same time that they are massacring and looting the
wealth of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Our wounds are old and deep especially in Africa but over the last few years the
people have awoken and today America is being stopped in its tracks by a blessed
resistance from Qandahar to Zanzibar with its slogan being the saying of Jesus
peace be upon him “To an old wound one applies fire”.
In conclusion I say that we only desire reform to the best of our ability and
our highest hope is that Allah forgives us our sins and our honest advice to you
for your own sake and the sake of the people is to review your relationship with
America and Europe, especially on the economic and moral levels and in this lies
the beginning of the changing of South Africa’s fortunes from hunger to
abundance, from fear to security and from chaos to harmony.
And if you refuse but to continue to worship America
and to ride in the sinking ship of the so called new world order then I remind
you that between the two Oceans is a barrier and they do not mix and we shall
not worship what you worship. You have your religion and we have ours.
And peace be upon those who follow the guidance.
