28-08-2008
An
Islamic organisation, "The Islamic Reformists Front" donated one hectar of land
as 'waqf' for the burial site of the accused Bali bombers on death rows, Imam
Samudera and friends.
The graves for Imam Samudera and friends were being prepared in the Bobojong
Village, Mande District, Cianjur of West Java Province, The Central Leadership
Council of the organisation, Chep Hermawan, said on Monday.
The donated land for Imam Samudera was given by the Islamic organisation because
they believed the accused are true Mujahideen who struggled for the
establishment of Islamic Shariah.
Chep admitted that when visiting Nusakambangan, he have always discussed with
Amrozy. Meanwhile, in another development…
The Days Approaching Execution
During a visit to the Nusakambangan prison with the "Tim Pembela Muslim" (TPM)
or "The Muslim Advocates Team", reporter Farouk Arnaz, reported: The complexion
on the faces of Amrozy, Imam Samudra, and Mukhlas looked radiant. There were
no signs of anxiety in their faces. Special scents like those of the Arabic
perfume emanated inside the cell measuring 6 x 8 meter.
“Alhamdullilah, our conditions are fine here. Our faces look radiant? May be
because we are not corruptors,” Amrozy said spontaneously in his usual trademark
of a smiley face.
Even though most of the victims were civilians, Samudera, Muklas, and Amrozy
were confident that their actions was a part of Jihad and due to that, they did
not regret at all. “With regards to the unintended muslim victim, I have already
repaid by performing the 'kifarat' (penalty) fasting for a complete two months.
The affair is now between me and Allah,’’ Amrozy added.
Whether joking or serious, he said that he always got the firasat (insights)
through dreams before receiving any guest. “If I dream about a mouse or monkey,
it means that there will be visitors from the Mabes/Polri (Indonesian government
or Police Dept),’’ he continued. And he admitted of dreaming about people
gathering around him the night before. “Now, it turned out that some reporters
are visiting,’’ he said.
When asked if there are any changes in his life in the days approaching the
execution, Amrozy said no. His every day is the same as before where he still
maintain his practice of performing the fasting of Prophet Daud AS. A day he
fasts and the next day he doesn’t. He always goes to sleep at 21:00 and wake up
at 01:00 before dawn to perform the the late night sunnah prayers and carries on
until the fajr comes.
After dawn till 07.00 am the space in front of their cells are opened. They make
use of this opportunity for exercise. From 07.00-09.00 am they are back inside
the cells. After that, from 09.00 to 16.00, the cell’s gate are opened again and
they can do some activities again in a limited way. That's how it goes,.
Samudera explained that it was in between those times that he fills his daily
activities with repeating his memorization of the Qur’an, revising the books of
the scholars from the past, taking down notes and writings, as well as like
Amrozy– encountering some spiritual experiences. For example, hearing the
greetings of peace (assalamualaikum) again and again, but when we checked there
was nobody nearby.
When the day of the execution comes, what do you like to be remembered as?
Samudera took a deep breath. “Don’t remember. Forget about me. I am only acting
on the words of Allah.” This gradute from the ‘Afghanistan Jihad’ also requested
that there shouldn’t be any crying – may be he meant his wife and children– the
moment his body was laid stiff inside the grave. "Allah says, we are only a
speck of dust. We are not celebrities,” he ended.
