Alhamdulillah, eventually the news from our brothers in Moro have come through.
A press release from the Moro Media Headquarters showed us the developments of
the Mujahideen and Jihad in Moro. With the calling off of an
impending agreement
after the ‘betrayal’ of the other side, it appears that Allah SWT has destined
another jihad front to be opened on the globe, namely in the Southern
Philippines (Moro). The Mujahideen shababs are currently keeping up the momentum
with their Jihad... the latest development they had… the Filipino Military are
sending more support troops as they are anticipating more repeat attacks, after
a successful guerilla attack by the Mujahideen earlier that killed 37 of the
enemy soldiers.
MILF negotiating leader, Mohaqher Iqbal said that there would never be any peace
process with the government, the MILF fighters are returning back onto the path
of Jihad. This is such great news anticipated by the ummah. Keep up the good
work MILF !!! Don’t be caught by the slogan of what they named as “the peace
process” and don’t fall for “the fake independence”. The genuine independence is
only through liberating the territories on Allah’s earth, heading towards the
implementation of Islamic Shariah in its entirety. ALLAH HU AKBAR !!!
With this latest development coming out from the ‘Nusantara’, it is appropriate
that we are introduced to the brief history of the Jihad in the Philippines.
The Moro Muslim’s Land (now known as 'Southern Philippines') includes the
Mindanao island (the second largest island in the Philippines), the islands of
Sulu, Palawan, Basilan and other surrounding areas.
The land has a size of 116,895 square kilometers, more than 1/3 of the total
size of the Philippines. It has a population of more than 20 millions people,
with more than 12 millions of those are Muslims. The rest are the native people
in the interior as well as the Christian immigrants from the Luzon and Visayas.
Islam arrived in Moro in 1210 AD, brought by the Arab merchants and mubalighs.
This was more than three centuries before the arrival of Christianity brought by
Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 AD. Not long after the arrival of Islam, an Islamic
Sultanage was founded by the Moro sultanage such as the Sultanage of Sulu and
the Sultanage of Maguindanao.
The Spanish invaders led by Magellan forced the
‘Cross’ and the beliefs in Trinity upon the populations there. The Muslims at
that time rose to resist the occupation of their homeland and religion, led by
Raja Sulaiman and Lakandula. However after the martyrdom of both of these
leaders, the muslims had been defeated and every Islamic legacy in Moro had been
obliterated by the Christians. What was left was just a fort which was known as
'Intramoros'.
On 10th December 1898, a "Paris Agreement" between America and Spain was
officially signed. In this agreement, Spain surrendered the Philippines to
America. Even though the Moro Muslims had never been under their rule, they
still included this blessed land as part of that agreement.
For over 300 years, the Christian Spaniards had tried to defeat and subjugate
the Moro Muslims, followed by America for another 47 years, however both of
these kuffar forces were repeatedly met with failure in their attempts.
However, through a political ploy, America succeeded in tricking the Moro
sultans and dignitaries to agree to a treaty with them (The Treaty of 'Kiram-Bates',
2/8/1899). Amongst the conditions of the treaty was that there would be no
interference on the part of the Americans in matters of administration of the
country by the sultans and ministers. On 2nd March 1904, President Roosevelt,
however declared that the treaty was longer accepted.
When America gave independence to the Philippines in 1946, the Moro Muslims
rejected the proposal for putting the lands of the Moro Muslims under the rule
of the Philippines. However the kuffar America and the Philippines did not heed
the voice of these Muslims (notice the date/year and ponder the reason why the
Islamic ummah were ignored). Thus, the Moro land which is rich in natural
resources, minerals and fertile soil, fell into the hand of the Christian
Philippines.
Jihad in the Moro land had been going on since 1521 AD. They had fought the
Spanish colonialism for 377 years (1521-1898). Then they battled the kuffar
American forces for 47 years (1898-1946). Next, the Moro Muslims struggled
against the kuffar Filipino since 1970 up till now.
As soon as the Philippines were independent in 1946, the Christian government of
the Philippines launched a special program for the Christian citizens from Luzon
and Visayas to be settled in the lands of the Moros. With the supports and aids
by the government, the Moro Muslims were oppressed by the Christians immigrants
in their own homeland.
Armed groups of Christian terrorists were formed. A lot of the Muslim
populations have been murdered brutally and their dwellings burnt to the ground.
Those Moro Muslims who were helpless to resist the terrorists, who were funded
by the Christian government, had to leave their properties behind and find
shelter in areas where there were a lot of Muslims. Their land and fields then
had been taken over and inhabited by the Christian immigrants.
At the time when the government and the Christian terrorists thought that they
had succeeded in annihilating the Moro Muslim, there arose from amongst the
muslims, youths of the Moro Muslim (Takbir!) from various stratums of the
society, including students, especially those who had religious educations from
the Arabic countries. Under the leadership of Salamat Hashim, the "Moro National
Liberation Front" (MNLF) was established. When this movement was still
strengthening itself, a conflict erupted between Salamat Hashim and Misuari,
another doctorate graduate from Egypt because both of these men wanted to be the
leader. Salamat Hashim, who was the pioneer of the movement realized that all
his efforts would fail should the conflict be allowed to prolong, especially if
he himself defended his standpoint to become a leader. Thus he immediately made
a decision of not to inflame the erupting conflict further. In the end Misuari
succeeded in becoming the chairman of the movement.
A few years after the commencement of the MNLF’s struggle and realizing
Misauri's incompatibility, almost all of the commanders agreed unanimously that
Misauri should let go of his post and give it up to Salamat Hashim. However
Misauri was reluctant and with several excuses, he continued to retain his post.
Due to this, Salamat Hashim had to take over the leadership of MNLF from Misauri.
In order to avoid confusion, the shura council had taken a decision to replace
the word 'National' with 'Islam'. Therefore the real 'Liberation Front' now is
the "The Moro Islamic Liberation Front" (MILF) whose objective is to reclaim the
sovereignty of the Islamic Moro State.
The Islamic Moro Mujahideen consists of;
• 120,000 Islamic Forces with more than 80% of them fully equipped.
• More than 300,000 common fighters.
The Objectives of the MILF’s Jihad are:
• To raise high the Words (Kalimah) of Allah SWT
• To obtain the Pleasure of Allah SWT
• To strengthen the bond between mankind and their Creator
• To strengthen the relation amongst mankind
• To regain all the rights of the Moro Muslim which have been stolen
• To establish an independent Islamic State and implement the Islamic Shariah
