MINDANAO
– In their determination to suppress the wishes of the Moro denizens to
administer their own lives based on what is written in the holy Al-Qur’an, the
government of the the Philippines are once again deceiving the Bangsamoro (Moro
people).The Manila government lured the MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) into agreeing with the peace process. Then they offered them the 'fake' Autonomous Districts which is called “Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao”. However, with all the undue worries and apprehension, President Arroyo obviously did not show earnestness in realizing the full assurance of hope in the peace process. Instead the MILF fighters were attacked by the Filipino government. Thus far, the government have never shown seriousness in the implementations of the agreements they have had with the Bangsamoro community, such as in the Final Peace Agreement in 1996 with the MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front). After a number of past agreements, it is obvious indeed that the government do not want the Bangsamoro to have the authority over their own territories.
Furthermore, the situation had worsened with introduction of a 'temporary detention order' issued by the high court into the MOA-AD (Memorandum of Agreement of Ancestral Domain). It was instigated by the politicians who did want to see peace within the Moro community, such as Governor of Cotabato, Emmanuel Pinol, Mayor Celco Lobregat, Teodore Locsin, and the spokeman of the opposition party Adel Temano.
The scenario we see today only brings sad memories and reminds us of the painful experiences suffered by the Bangsamoro at the hand of the Filipino government. This is in addition to the humiliation, injuries as well as the attacks on the honor of Islam, not only in the Philippines but in every place on earth.
From the deliberate measures taken by those 'satans' who claimed to be the politicians and without the earnestness, as well as by the intergral strategy of the Filipino government, the Bangsamoro community are deceived again. The Bangsamoro Youth Leader Forum (BMYLF), the laregst alliance in Mindanao expressed their doubts over the sincerity of the government in ending the problems of the Moro people.
The followings are calls by the BMYLF, in order for peace to be achieved in the Mindanao regions, :
1. Demands for Governor Pinol, Mayor Lobregat and all the anti-Moro politicians who sabotaged the peace agreement, to be tried in court.
