Why does Al Qaeda seem in a hurry!

17-07-2008

Whoever is closely watching the issue of jihad in Palestine must have noticed the decisive and simultaneous release of statements and releases in its direction which is still continuing, making one wonder, just like myself right now at the aftermath of the last releases of the signposts of Jihad, and I mean particularly the following 6 releases.

- The address of Sheikh Osama Bin laden (Way to undo the conspiracies)
- The first article of Asad Al Jihad 2 (The timing of the entrance of Al Qaeda in Palestine)
- The address of Sheikh Abu Omar Al Baghdadi (The religion is instruction)
- The address of Sheikh Osama Bin laden (Way to relief Palestine)
- The address of Sheikh Dr. Aiman Az Zawahiri (March forth to help our people in Gaza)
- The second article of Asad Al Jihad 2 (The acquittal of the lofty leaders of Jihad from the stammering leaders of Hamas)

So there are a total of 3 months in total when these releases have been made, all of which are centered on Palestine pointing out too, that the first stressed on Iraq and at the same time pointed strongly on what concerns Palestine. There is no doubt that everyone stopped at the very limited duration, not exceeding a few minutes especially in the last 3 messages (two of bin laden and one of Zawahiri) leave alone their being characterized with decisive stands from the mentioned issues, as if Al Qaeda in this manner is giving a clear message that the period of instructing and explaining and directing by her has ended. So does this hurry explain some of the incredulity that these messages have left? Lets continue the analysis..

What is clear that the message “Way to frustrate the conspiracies” was based mainly on condemning of the political leadership of Hamas, but the new thing about it concerning Palestine is the renewal of Bin Laden’s mention about helping Palestine and its people, and because many of the enemies and rivals criticized and wondered why Al Qaeda is not directing some of its activities in Palestine, Bin Laden pointed out in this speech the indulgence of Al Qaeda in combating the Americans and its allies in Afghanistan and Iraq, and it might be that this extract was enough to calm the minds, “I calm our people in Palestine especially, that we will expand our jihad by the will of Allah ,and will not recognize the boundaries of Sais Beaco nor the rulers who have implemented colonialism”.

After one month exactly, the first article of Asad Al jihad appeared carrying a bunch of directions and instructions and wants that he hoped the Palestinians to take guidance from in preparation to welcome the migrant Mujahideen. The article was met with a lot of appreciation and welcome both at the level of Palestinians and Ansars (helpers) especially, and it came as if it had brought forth a glad tiding for them. In the midst of the heat of the article, and after 2 weeks exactly, the severe speech of Baghdadi was released in which he rebuked the political leadership of Hamas and called the “sincere from Kataib AL Qassam” to become independent from the movement.

These three sources represent the second phase in the direction of the jihad towards Palestine after the end of the first phase that was set on instructing, and admonition and anger without showing any results concerning the actions of political Hamas. And if we try to summarize the most important things that were mentioned in the speeches of the second phase, we can say the following

- Adhering to the Palestinian issue
- The declaration of Al Qaeda to spread its Jihad
- Beginning of the fight with Israel
- Beginning of the directing campaigns for the Palestinians to help the entrance of Al Qaeda

Its clear that Palestine was the pivot of the first two phases (instructing and rebuking) and the second (direction and guiding) as for the third phase (joining the Jihad fronts) then they can be noticed in the last three sources, and that cuts down every hope from the Arab political system that has actually declared the end of its war phase with Israel, beginning from its agreement on the Arab initiative of peace in the Beirut summit, passing on to the coverage on the Israeli aggression on Lebanon in the summer of 2006 and with the end of the Annapolis conference at the end of the year 2007 and the aggression taking place in Gaza leave alone the statement of Prince Turkey Faisal about the struggle of the Arabs to accommodate Israel in the Arab geography along with the formal statement of Palestine in which it acquitted itself from everything that deals with the resistance and fighting with Israel.

That’s why, when he (bin Laden) calls to wash hands off the wagering on the Arab political system we see him calling the Islamic Ummah, at the same time to get rid of the “shackles of the scholars of the rulers, and also from the shackles of the Islamic groups whose methodology has become to accept the rulers… or other groups that have made carefulness near themselves enlarged to the point of fear that they prefer taking the chairs, on standing for Jihad”

This is the political scenario in which the address of Bin Laden “The Road to the freedom of Palestine” appeared and it is a message that talks about fighting “Iron can not be combated except with Iron” but the strangest thing in the message is the mechanisms that he suggests for helping the Palestinian cause, for in the second stage the focus was on Palestine and preparing for a march for which the preparation is being made on the inside, as in the third stage the matter is very complicated and arise wonder! For he is talking clearly about Iraq “the closest of the grounds today to help the Palestinians” and he calls “the people of Syria, all of Syria is a blessed land, to… do what they can to help their Mujahideen brothers in Iraq”.

Instead he goes farther than that and asks the Palestinians who have migrated from Palestine at the time of the occupation, most of who live in the neighboring countries, “who have been barred from participating in the Jihad on the land of Quds… to hasten to take their positions in the ranks of the Mujahideen in the Land of the Two Rivers”

Perhaps Bin Laden seems compatible in his messages especially as he has not declared in his previous messages about the extension of Jihad of Al Qaeda in the direction of Palestine specifically against the hopes of the Ansar.

The help can be from the side of Iraq and could be through Palestinian hands. And instead of sitting back especially for those Palestinians who are not getting a way fro Jihad in Palestine they can move towards Iraq, and there is no doubt that Zawahiri is of the same opinion too, for in his last address he refuted openly the traditional thesis, “There is no place for those who say that we should fight the Jews in Palestine only” but it is exciting for he is asking the Palestinians to target Jews outside Palestine which blends with the suggestions of Bin Laden in “expanding the Jihad” to encompass “all the lands of Syria” especially because the plan has been “set up around Gaza… and the forces of the borders and security forces of Egypt…, that would stop aids from them and constrict upon them in food supply and medical treatment, and stop the marching (for Jihad) to them, and stop their wounded from leaving, or give refuge to their families, and to constrict the siege from the south and west…”.

The most important thing in the address of Zawahiri was that he called the Muslims to accept the equation whose stature is “To attack their interests every where as they have gathered against us from everywhere”. So what is the harvest in our hands?

The harvest is that the article of Asad Al Jihad, is still directed to Palestine and Palestinians as against the directions of the leadership of Al Qaeda, so is what’s happening a division of roles in inciting? Or are the articles of Asad Al Jihad merely personal discretion, and have no connection with Al Qaeda.

There were two important pointers that Baghdadi made in this context in his statement, one of which talks about the preparation of the Islamic State of Iraq to host the Palestinians and train them and help them “We are prepared to train your cadres, beginning from making road side bombs to setting up rockets” and this is a direction that can be understood in the call of bin Laden to the migrant Palestinians to go to Iraq.

The second pointer is the expulsion of the Mujahideen by the American forces and the tribal awakening groups from Anbar, as it is closer to Palestine especially and because some of the rockets can trespass it, and that is why expelling the Mujahideen from it was a strategic way to protect Israel, but in the second article of Asad Al Jihad, the talk is about “an exhaustive attack on Israel” and about “vexing attacks between us and between the Jews inside Palestine and outside it” and with the tone of a man “confident of himself” he thinks that what Baghdadi has mentioned about Anbar is “a pointer and sign of the time of the exhaustive attack on Israel from inside and outside, and that will be after regaining Anbar”

But why does Baghdadi give implications to this meaning now and Anbar was formerly in the hands of the Mujahideen before Abu Risha’s forces took over it? And has Al Qaeda really talked about an expected exhaustive attack on Israel? And will such a matter, if it’s correct, being talked about through the media with such ease? And then how is it possible for Al Qaeda to prepare to enter Palestine while it calls the migrant Palestinians to join the front in Iraq? And target the American Israeli interests outside Palestine?

And had not GIMF published the two articles of Asad Al Jihad 2 we wouldn’t have stopped much at them, for the man has no identity as a leader of Al Qaeda nor his placement in the organization, and this might try the truthfulness of Al Qaeda, and divide the effort, as how can Palestine be the focus of the media effort of Al Qaeda whereas the Ansar are receiving contrasting statements some of it calling to prepare in Palestine and another calling them to join the front in Iraq and a third inciting them to attack the American and Israeli interests and a fourth giving them glad tidings of severe attacks on Israel?

There is no doubt that these are strange paradox but what if Asad Al Jihad was a shadow of one of the greatest leaders of Al Qaeda, or at least someone who knows the concealed things? Does not this then point to the fact that the current tantamount in understanding the statements of Al Qaeda is being met with a lot of blindness and its difficult to follow its core?

Before two days I traced a third article for the writer Dr. John Butrus and some of the Jihadi websites published it with a bright banner, but I did not find a trace for it on the media outlets as its formers, in which the writer eventuates on the statement of Bin Laden to Europe, and in spite of the fact that the article brought out a lot of emotions, except that what attracted my attention was the consideration of the writer that Al Qaeda has finished its preparations for the attack, otherwise it would not have used the statement “The Answer is what you see not what you hear” and that is an analysis that received a large amount of response with the article.

And if the expectations of the writer are correct then Al Qaeda is really tampering behind what seems contradictions in the series of what has been formerly mentioned and it is the first time we notice it in this way, as for if I am wrong then there has been an extremism in the understanding of the addresses and putting it in a context which is not supposed to be, has occurred. However, in every case Al Qaeda seems to be in a hurry, and in such a situation there is no way to ascertain better than to wait for the coming events and the release of more statements
