Ethics of War followed by the Mujahideen
07-06-2008
The following is taken from the forums. Since the media has
completely tarnished the image of the Mujahideen worldwide, the following
article will give a new breath of life into the understanding and mentality of
the soldiers of Islam and their immense piety. This will surprise many Americans
and should get them to think about how careful the sons of Islam are versus the
carelessness of the American Army in general. There are many similar stories
like the one below, so this comes as no surprise to those who are aware of the
ethics of the Mujahideen. We provide this article to show the reality of the
other side… a side we don’t hear about often except in negative terms:
Translated by Umm Saad
Once a new member joined the group of Al Qaeda organization at the beginning of
the American occupation when they required one more member to complete the
shortage of men in order to carry out an operation
That group was an elite group that worked silently, efficiently and expertly.
Their number did not exceed 9 but they were 9 human lions led by a defiant Lion,
who I can not describe, for my words might fall short in describing his
greatness. Can I describe his adherence, or his bravery or his generosity or his
liberality or his mental insight or his excessive intelligence?
And we exalt none over Allah.
I had parted with that man (Amir), perhaps for several years, and when I met him
again and came to know that he is from the pure men of Al Qaeda I said in
myself- Woe to you America! What will happen to you if such are the men of Al
Qaeda?
I do not know the mental abilities of “Muhammad Atta”, except what is revealed
of his cleverness through the September attacks, but I think this Amir, exceeded
the intelligence of Muhammad Atta by, say for, a 100 times.
So you can imagine how enormously clever this man was!
And I am not exaggerating.
I will not prolong in his description for the subject here is to describe an
incident that took place before me.
I was amazed at it, just as you will be, I suppose.
And when you will compare between what I say, and what the enemies are
portraying about the Al Qaeda’s ethics in war.
That group decided to perform an assassination operation on one of the Top
officials working in the interior ministry at the beginning of its setup after
the occupation. The plan was that the brothers would spread around the house of
the puppet and over one of the bridges, close to his house that was guarded by
some of his private guards. The (zero hour) hour of attack was when the puppet
would attempt to come out of his house.
That man had been watched and kept under surveillance for more than a month so
the timings were very accurate. The group was in its base revising the plan of
the attack and reminding each member of his duty and the Amir was trying to
reply to the questions that might be have occurred to the brothers, especially
that new member for who this was the very first operation. And because he
wanted to follow them when he came to know that they are an organization and
that they are adherent and well planned.
The Amir was engrossed in explaining the plan and reminding the group of what
elevates its determination.
The new member was very excited and he wanted to express some of his (many)
questions as is the case with most of the new members in any place, and his
first question was directly against the plan.
“Why should we wait for that puppet instead of attacking him? Why don’t we enter
into his house and get rid of him inside the house after a quick raid operation
killing his companions?”
The Amir kept quiet for a while as if trying to absorb the outburst of that new
member in working with them, then he said to him,
“We cannot raid into the house fearing the presence of unveiled women, and from
fear of seeing what we are not supposed to from the women of the house. And we
would not like to disobey Allah when we have come out to obey Him.”
The new member was amazed at the reply, for he was not used to the idea of a
project being limited with what would hinder the application of steps to
accomplish the goals. Is it possible for a group that is attempting an
assassination operation with all the difficulty and risk it involves to increase
the difficulty of the operation by trying to implement Islamic laws?!
The member did not think that there was a group that adhered to such strict
Islamic thinking or tried to implement the Islamic limits that the group had
taken as established rules in the details of its operation, no matter how small
it is!
After he grasped this answer with difficulty, he murmured a little and them came
up with a new question saying,
“As long as we know when that puppet is going to come out, why don’t we plant a
roadside bomb at his doorstep and finish the matter?”
The Amir said, “We have done that before, but the Shiite neighbors would
discover the bomb and inform about it.”
The new member replied in less haste, “Then, let’s blow up the road itself for
they deserve to die because they help this man and because they are Shiites.”
And perhaps because he knew what the answer would be he jumped to another
question
“Lets suppose that one of the passers by recognizes one of us, what should we
do? Can we kill him in order to protect the secrecy of our identities?”
At that time the man was thunderstruck with the answer he received
The Amir said,
“Who has permitted you the blood of that man?”
He replied,
“We have come out in the way of Allah and our safety is preferable over the
safety of the general.”
The Amir was amazed at the answer and said,
“If you bring to me (Islamic) legal evidence that permits the killing of that
man for this reason then I will permit you to kill him.”
The man became silent for a while as if telling that I do not have a legal
evidence and then said,
“Then what should the person who has been found out do?”
The Amir said,
“If one of the group member, supposes that he has been found out by one of the
passersby, then he is supposed to leave his house and the area in which he is
and discover another area where he can hide himself and is not found out.”
The new member said,
“I should leave my house and leave him?”
The Amir said,
“Yes.”
In the plan the position of the new member had been specified on the bridge
which was a little aloof from the rest of the group and was a little risky as to
falling in captivity.
So he returned to asking another question after being shocked by the previous
answer.
“What if one of us is surrounded by the police and we fall in their hands during
the operation?”
The Amir said,
“We will not leave the member get arrested and we will defend him and release
him no matter what it takes.”
At that time the new member was satisfied, and he went out with the group
enthusiastically after he felt for the first time that he is doing Jihad
according to the Islamic Shari’ah and its ethics and not according to the
Shari’ah of “Ba’ath” or “National” or the “goal justifies the action” that is
followed by most of the Iraqis.
I swear by Allah that what I have related is the truth and it happened before my
eyes, with some alteration in the words.
I would not make this promise had I not suspected some of the people to say
“These are mere rumors.”
And if I try to tell you the behavior of some of the Arab Mujahideen who fought
and died because of it, then you will be amazed all the more.
Yes there are some mistakes, and there is no group that doesn’t do mistakes,
except if it is doing nothing!
But we are very much astonished when the enemies attempt to make
The rare happenings a general event,
And individual mistakes a methodology,
And from the decrees, a way of dealing.
And then there are people who believe them.
And they know that we are not fighting them except with this religion and with
its Shar’iah and ethics.
See my dear brothers, May Allah guide us.
If we spread through the media or by ourselves, such instances of the manners of
the Mujahideen in War, will there remain any one who would admeasure the
Mujahideen or abandon or criticize them.
It is a battle of hearts; if we win the hearts of our enemies then we might
occupy their lands without battles!!!
Your brother
Abdur Rahmaan Al Faqeer
