The Taliban's war is only for the freedom of Afghanistan from the enemies of Muslims.”
Good read How a government manipulates local newspaper to report news in ways to promote its agendas I am writing to draw your attention to an important matter that indicates the rapidly worsening environment for the freedom of press in Pakistan. It has always been difficult for governments to coexist with a free and independent press in Pakistan. Of late, however, the government headed by President Musharraf has become increasingly intolerant towards criticism in the press and towards the publishing of news that reflects poorly on the performance of his government on security matters.
Just desserts: Daily Dawn deserves what it Gets Dawn’s CEO claims when the regime approached Dawn in September 2006 and attempted “to seek a news blackout regarding Baluchistan and the troubled FATA agencies,” the editors “firmly turned down” the regime’s request. And then what? Did Dawn conduct any investigations into the killing of Pakistanis by Pakistani forces? Did it produce a conclusive report to show that the General is claiming responsibility for the deaths of his people killed by the US-UK occupation forces in Afghanistan? Concern is coming from countless sources elsewhere. What special role has this ‘credible’ Pakistani newspaper played?

Pakistan sends
8,000 more troops to tribal areas
Pakistan has dispatched 8,000
additional troops as skirmishes continued between Pakistan army and Mujahideen
in its tribal areas. The troops have been sent to the tribal areas to
"reinforce" the military ahead of a major operation being planned in the North
and South Waziristan tribal agencies, sources said. Quoting official sources,
the report says two brigades of infantry troops have been sent to the trouble
spots near the Pak - Afghan border. Maj General Waheed Arshad, ISPR chief.
However, the sources insist it is an additional deployment of troops for an
operation being planned in the troubled areas to flush out Mujahideen. This
two-brigade force has been moved from Lahore and another garrison located in the
Punjab. It is in addition to the 80,000 troops already present in the tribal
areas. According to sources, the government is planning to target the stronghold
of Mujahideen, especially of Uzbek origin. The likely operation spots are Mir
Ali in the North Waziristan.
US puppet Pakistan army continues to create problems for Mujahideen: Pakistani government puppet tribesmen enlist to fight Mujahideen Pakistan Army covernt operation against the Mujahideen took new turn today as Pakistan Army puppet Tribesmen gathered in a Pakistani border area Monday to enlist for ongoing battles against Mujahideen, officials and witnesses said. The puppet jirga or tribal assembly was called by a pro-government chief and former Taliban commander following two weeks of pitched battles in the South Waziristan region during which more than 200 people have died. The US puppet Pakistani government says the efforts to drive the Uzbek, Chechen and Arab Mujahideen from the area show the success of Islamabad's peace deals with formerly Taliban-supporting tribesmen.
They have created so many problems for us,” witnesses quoted the US puppet Pakistan army puppet tribal commander, Mullah Nazir, as telling the gathering. Officials say the foreign Mujahideen, who are accused of leading attacks on NATO and US forces in Afghanistan, number around 500. Most fled Afghanistan after the 2001 fall of the Taliban regime. Nazir and other puppet chiefs said they would gather a tribal army known as a lashkar on Tuesday morning in Wana to fight the foreign Mujahideen. They called on tribesmen in the neighbouring towns of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan, which are officially outside the semi-autonomous Pakistani tribal belt, to join in. The council also warned local tribesmen not to support foreigners or else their homes would be burnt, they would face a one million rupee fine and they would be expelled from the area, a Pakistan government puppet tribesman told news agencies. Meanwhile, the main bazaar in Wana was shut on Monday and intermittent heavy weapons fire could be heard in the distance. Mujahideen fired three rockets at a paramilitary camp in Wana early Monday but there were no casualties.

Iraqi Oil Belongs To The Iraqi People The proposed Petroleum Law creates a Federal Oil and Gas Council on which would sit representatives of Exxon- Mobil, Shell, BP, etc., whose tasks include approving their own contracts. Instead of Iraqi central government decision-making on oil, the proposal authorizes regional authorities to individually sign contracts with foreign companies, promoting contract bidding wars between regions that could lead to breaking Iraq into three states.
What is Tony Blair Complaining About? British Prime Minister Tony Blair is mad as hell that Iran grabbed 15 sailors and marines in the Persian Gulf...I have two words for Mr. Blair and his phony outrage: Guantanamo Bay. He (and the prisoners) are lucky they weren't detained by U.S. forces where...[t]hey would disappear into a legal black hole after being labelled "enemy combatants"...They would be sadistically tortured [and]...would "disappear" and not be allowed to communicate with their families, friends, or...lawyers. And if this is Blair's idea of "blatant aggression," what the hell was invading Iraq under false pretenses? A picnic?
Biofuels And Global Hunger More than three
billion people in the world are being condemned to a premature death from hunger
and thirst. It is not an exaggeration; this is rather a conservative figure. I
have meditated for quite a long time on that after the meeting held by President
Bush with the US automakers. The sinister idea of turning foodstuffs into fuel
was definitely established as the economic strategy of the US foreign policy on
Monday, March 26th last.

Climate Report Maps Out ‘Highway To Extinction’ A key element of the second major report on climate change being released Friday in Belgium is a chart that maps out the effects of global warming, most of them bad, with every degree of temperature rise. There’s one bright spot: A minimal heat rise means more food production in northern regions of the world. However, the number of species going extinct rises with the heat, as does the number of people who may starve, or face water shortages, or floods, according to the projections in the draft report obtained by The Associated Press.
Plan to set up Islamic mega-bank "It is a time for mega-Islamic banks ... we will establish a bank in Bahrain with different kinds of shares," Kamel told a news conference in Manama, the kingdom's capital. The Islamic finance industry has an estimated $300bn to $400bn in assets, but lacks well-capitalised banks. About a quarter of the roughly 300 Islamic lenders worldwide are reported to have less than $25m in paid-up capital. Kamel said: "There is a need for this mega-bank to make the tools to increase liquidity in Islamic banks, and move the banking system more towards Sharia [Islamic law] goals."
The War
To Save The U.S. Dollar In 1973, the
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quadrupled the price of oil
but continued to accept only U.S. dollars in payment, so that demand for dollars
soared. From then on, the dollar was effectively backed by oil instead of gold
-- and the U.S. government didn't even have to own the oil!
Because dollars can buy oil, exporters in countries that need to import oil --
i.e. most developed countries -- will accept dollars for their exports. Hence
everyone who needs to buy from those exporters will accept dollars as payment
for other things, and so on. To pay their bills, importers must have reserves of
dollars. To prop up their currencies against speculative attacks, the central
banks of all countries must have reserves of dollars. To get capital, poor
countries must borrow dollars, and to service these debts they must export goods
to obtain more dollars. About 2/3 of all currency reserves, more than 4/5 of all
currency transactions, more than half of the world's exports, and all loans from
the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are denominated in dollars. As these
things create demand for the dollar and shore up its value, oil exporters are
the more willing to accept payment in dollars. So the process is
self-reinforcing; it's called "dollar hegemony".
Russia Opposes US Missile Defense System in Europe Russian foreign ministry says Moscow rejected US offer to jointly create a missile defense system in Europe, denying offering to host a joint defense shield. Western news outlets had earlier quoted an unknown official in Russian foreign ministry as saying that if Washington gives up its plan in creating anti-missile system in Eastern Europe, Moscow and Washington will consider a joint defense shied. Russian foreign ministry dismissed the news as fabricated, stressing Moscow still opposes US plan to deploy missile defense system in Poland and Czech Republic.

'Aussie Taliban'
jailed for nine months by US military tribunal
A US military tribunal Friday sentenced
Australian David Hicks to nine months in prison for training with Al-Qaeda, in a
plea deal that will see him free by the new year. After a panel of military
officers recommended a maximum sentence of seven years, Colonel Ralph Kohlmann
revealed that a prior secret plea bargain agreement for Hicks meant that he
could not serve more than nine months. As a result of the deal, Hicks will be
transferred to Australia within two months and then serve out the sentence in
his home country. The Hicks case marks the first conviction by the controversial
Guantanamo military tribunals and the first conviction in a US war crimes trial
since World War II. Hicks, who retained a stoic expression after the judge
announced the result, earlier pleaded guilty to attending Al-Qaeda training
camps and volunteering to fight in support of the Taliban regime during the
US-led invasion of Afghanistan. The United States had come under heavy lobbying
over the case from Australia's conservative government, which had been accused
of failing to protect the interests of one of its citizens.
US to impose penalty tariffs on China in landmark move The United States announced in an unprecedented decision Friday to impose penalty tariffs on China to offset government subsidies, as Washington grapples with its massive trade deficit with the world's most populous nation. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez told a news conference that a "preliminary decision" had been made "to apply the US anti-subsidy law to imports from China." This is the first time countervailing duties will be imposed on imports from so called non-market economies such as China. "China's economy has developed to the point that we can add another trade remedy tool, such as the countervailing duty law," Gutierrez said. "The China of today is not the China of years ago." Beijing expressed strong dissatisfaction with the US decision, saying it "goes against the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries to resolve differences through dialogue," state media reported. "China strongly requires the US side to reconsider the decision and make prompt changes," Chinese commerce ministry spokesman Wang Xinpei said, as quoted by the official chinese news agency.
Report Faults
Pentagon for Weapons Buying Problems
US congressional
investigators said on Friday that the Defense Department has doubled its planned
investment in new weapons from $750 billion in 2001 to $1.5 trillion this year,
but it is not getting enough bang for its buck. The Government Accountability
Office, Congress' non-partisan audit and investigative arm said: The Pentagon
program "remains a high-risk area" dogged by cost overruns, schedule delays and
performance gaps. It said in its fifth annual assessment of selected weapons
programs: Development costs often overshoot estimates by tens or hundreds of
million dollars, especially in programs that start with technology that is not
yet mature. GAO chief David Walker, who is the US comptroller general, said in a
cover letter to Congress: Despite the doubling of planned spending in major
weapons systems since 2001, "unanticipated cost growth has reduced the return on
this investment."
Bush Apologizes
for Hospital Conditions
The badly cornered US President,
George W. Bush, apologized to troops face to face on Friday for shoddy
conditions they have endured at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Bush confessed
during a nearly three-hour visit to the medical center — his first since reports
surfaced of shabby conditions for veterans in outpatient housing: "The problems
at Walter Reed were caused by bureaucratic and administrative failures. The
system failed you and it failed our troops, and we're going to fix it." News
that war veterans were not getting adequate care stunned the public, outraged
Capitol Hill and forced three high-level Pentagon officials to step down. Bush
met with soldiers once housed in Building 18, who endured moldy walls, rats,
cockroaches and other problems that went unchecked until reported by the media.
Bush critics questioned the timing of the president's visit — six weeks after
the problems were exposed and in the middle of the White House's battle with
Congress over funding for troops in Iraq.

The development in Pakistan tribal belt
Since last week clashes have taking place in Pakistan tribal areas, the Pakistan
government controlled Pakistani media is reporting that the fighting is between
the locals and foreign Mujahideen from Uzbekistan and some Arab Mujahideen, this
is not the case.
The truth is, its not the locals that are fighting the Mujahideen, its the
Pakistan army commandos covet operations as locals and Pakistan Army agents, the
recent pressure form US and NATO to stop the crossing boarding of Mujahideen
from Pakistan into Afghanistan. The US as made it very clear to Pakistan that if
they do not do something about crossing boarding of Mujahideen then the US will
take the matter in their own hands.
US puppet Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf needs to show his masters that
there are actions being taking by his government, he can not just bring the Army

UK Trooper Apologizes for Trespassing Iranian Territorial Waters
Another detained British military sailor N.
Thomas Summers on Friday admitted that the 15 British sailors had violated
Iran's territorial waters on March 23 and extended his apology to the Iranian
nation for the issue. Speaking to reporters, the British sailor said, "We
illegally entered Iran's territorial waters and were arrested by the Iranian
border guards and I would like to apologize to the Iranian people for the
issue." He said the Iranian forces captured the sailors and marines in a
friendly manner and treated them well.
Hijacked Plane Lands at Khartoum Airport A plane hijacked while flying from Libya to Sudan has landed at Khartoum airport where authorities are negotiating with the hijacker. A Sudan Airways official at the airport said Friday that the plane was taken over by a single hijacker, but he did not know the hijacker's nationality, motivations or what he was armed with. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the plane was a Libyan aircraft. He did not know how many people were on board.
Japan Deploys Ballistic Missiles
Japan on Friday deployed its first
ballistic missile defence system managed by its own military. America last year
installed Japan's first anti-missile system, but the interceptors deployed
Friday were the first installed by Japan on its own. A Defence Ministry
spokesman said: Two patriot advanced capability-3 (PAC-3) surface-to-air
interceptors were installed early Friday at Japan's Iruma air force base north
of Tokyo. The Ministry plans to deploy the American-developed PAC-3s, which can
cover a 20-kilometre radius, at a total of 11 bases in eastern and western Japan
by March 2011.
India Test Fires
Its Nuclear-capable Dhanush Missile
India successfully test-fired a nuclear-capable
surface-to-surface missile from a defence base off the coast of the eastern
Indian state Orissa on Friday, news reports said. The 8.56-metre-long Dhanush
(which means bow) was launched from the ship, INS Subhadra, about 40 nautical
miles from the Chandipur- on-sea integrated test range, about 200 kilometres
from state capital Bhibhaneswar.
The test exercise was carried out by scientists from the Defence
Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and tracked, from take- off to
impact through an integrated network of sophisticated radars and electro-optic
instruments for data analysis.
The Dhanush, which has a strike range of 250 to 350 kilometres, is a naval
variant of India's surface-to-surface Prithvi or "earth" II missile, uses a
single stage liquid propellant engine, and is capable of carrying a warhead of
up to 750 kilograms, a news agency reported, citing defence officials. Being
exclusively developed for the Indian Navy, Dhanush has been previously
test-fired in 2001, 2004 and 2005. On three occasions earlier this week India
test-fired Astra, a locally-built air-to-air missile, capable of carrying a
conventional warhead of about 15 kilograms. The tests on Astra came just days
after Pakistan test-fired a modified Hatf-VII Babur cruise missile capable of
carrying a nuclear payload and having a strike range of 700 kilometres.

Jewish propaganda Film "Radical Islam" Tied to Pro-Israel Groups
When "Obsession" was released
last year, news pundits and anchors on FOX and CNN praised the independent film
for its candid look at Islamic militancy. FOX incorporated footage from the film
into a one-hour special, which aired seven times in November 2006. CNN's
right-wing pundit Glen Beck called it "one of the most important films of our
time". Sean Hannity of FOX News described it as "shocking beyond belief".
While such enthusiasm from right-wing talk show personalities comes as no
surprise, mainstream cable news programmes also appeared to accept, without
question, the premise of the film, which explicitly compares the threat posed by
radical Islam to that of Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
Israel ‘Marriage to an Arab is national treason’ Recent poll reveals steep rise in racist views against Arabs in Israel; many participants feel hatred, fear when overhearing Arabic, 75 percent don’t approve of shared apartment buildings Over half of the Jewish population in Israel believes the marriage of a Jewish woman to an Arab man is equal to national treason, according to a recent survey by the Geocartography Institute. The survey, which was conducted for the Center Against Racism, also found that over 75 percent of participants did not approve of apartment buildings being shared between Arabs and Jews. Sixty percent of participants said they would not allow an Arab to visit their home.

Historian Denies gassings by the Nazis during World War II of the Jews
British historian David Irving, who was jailed in Austria for questioning the
Holocaust, visited the Auschwitz death camp and renewed his claim that there was
no proof it had gas chambers during an Italian TV program aired Friday.
In the Sky TG24 documentary program "Controcorrente" (Countercurrent), Irving is
filmed walking down the remains of railroad tracks in the former death camp in
southern Poland as he insists that engineering techniques back his claims that
mass gassings by the Nazis during World War II didn't occur there.
Israel rejects Arab peace plan Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres said on Thursday that Israel refused to accept the revived Arab peace initiative as it currently stands and said negotiations were needed. "There is only one way to overcome our differences, and that is negotiation," Peres told Israeli public radio. "It's impossible to say: you must take what we offer you as is." The blueprint, which was endorsed at an Arab summit on Wednesday, offers Israel full normalisation of relations if it withdraws from all land occupied in the 1967 war and allows the creation of a Palestinian state and the return of Palestinian refugees.
Every country has right to use nuke technology: Riyadh Declaration Arab leaders on Thursday wrapped up a summit where they relaunched a five-year-old blueprint for peace in the Middle East, although Israel has rejected the plan as it stands. The 22-member Arab League gathering was declared over after Secretary General Amr Mussa read out a "Riyadh Declaration" reaffirming leaders' commitment to the Arab initiative first endorsed at a 2002 summit. The declaration says that it is the right of every country to attain nuclear technology. The proposal offers Israel peace and normal ties if it withdraws from all land seized in the 1967 war, allows the creation of a Palestinian state and the return of Palestinian refugees. The leaders reaffirmed the "commitment of all Arab states to the Arab peace initiative as approved at the Beirut summit in 2002 in all its elements." They also reaffirmed "their call to the government of Israel and all Israelis to accept the Arab peace initiative and seize the opportunity to resume the process of direct and serious negotiations on all tracks."
America leading ally in fighting Islam and a role model of democracy Pakistan, Media watchdog slams curbs on Pakistan media A Paris-based watchdog on Thursday blasted Pakistani government claims the country was a model for media freedom and criticized pressure placed on a leading newspaper. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) took odds with Information Minister Mohammad Ali Durrani's claims this week that due to “bold initiatives,”Pakistan was a “model of free media in the entire South Asian region.” ”How can you claim this when recent weeks have been marked by grave acts of censorship and violence against independent media?” RSF secretary-general Robert Menard said in an open letter to Durrani. Menard cited protests against the removal of the Supreme Court’s chief justice, during which police ransacked the office of the private Geo television this month. “The president and you did indeed express regret about the police violence, but what measures have you taken to ensure that privately-owned television stations will finally be able to work freely?” he asked. Menard also criticized drastic cuts in government advertising with the Dawn group of newspapers since December. “The group is being subjected to shocking commercial and legal harassment,” he said. “The group's refusal to change its editorial policies led the government to impose its sanctions in order to undermine its financial situation,” Menard wrote. “If you would really like Pakistan to become a model, the first thing you should do is put a stop to the harassment of the Dawn group,” he added. Menard also criticized the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), which he said recently forced two TV stations to censor themselves.

India tests Astra missile again India on Thursday conducted another test of its home grown air-to-air missile Astra, considered a new system in the guided missile development programme, from a military base in Orissa. Astra, meaning weapon in Hindi, was fired from complex-II of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in the coastal district of Balasore, 15 km from Balasore and 230 km from Bhubaneswar, at 11.33 am, military sources said. The missile has a striking range of 25-40 km and its launch speed is estimated to be 0.6 to 2.2 mach. It was earlier tested from the same range March 25 and 26. Developed by the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), the missile has a length of 3,570 mm and a diameter of 178 mm. It is likely to be ready by 2011-12.
Blair's office condemns decision to show captured British crew on Iranian TV Prime Minister Tony Blair's office on Thursday condemned the decision to show captured British sailors and marines on Iranian television. "Nobody should be put in that position. It is an impossible position to be put in,'' said Blair's spokesman, who spoke onc ondition of anonymity in keeping with government policy. "It iswrong. It is wrong in terms of the usual conventions that cover this. It is wrong in terms of basic humanity.'' Iran captured 15 British sailors and marines last week in the Shatt al Arab waterway between Iraq and Iran. Britain insists the crew were in Iraqi waters when they were captured; Tehran claims they had entered Iranian waters. In video footage aired Wednesday, the only woman captive said hergroup had "trespassed'' in Iranian waters; other images showed the group eating together. Britain angrily denounced the video as unacceptable and froze most of its dealings with Iran.
Iran demands British apology over sailors Iran on Thursday demanded an apology from Britain over what it said was the "illegal entry" of British sailors into its waters. "The logical solution to resolving this affair is for the British authorities to accept the realty, present their apologies to the great Iranian people," General Alireza Afshar, spokesman for the head of the country's armed forces, was quoted as saying by a local news agency.
Britain denies siege of Iranian mission in Basra Britain rejected the charges put up by Iran's consul in the Iraqi city of Basra that British forces surrounded the consulate on Thursday and firing into the air in a provocative act at a time of heightened tensions between the two countries. The British military denied any aggressive action and said the shots heard came from a British convoy that was ambushed in the same street as the consulate in central Basra. Iranian consul Mohammed Ridha Nasir Bagban said: "They came at 10 a.m. and surrounded the consulate. After 20 minutes they started shooting in different direction. They are trying to irritate us because of the issue of the capture of the British soldiers, but this behaviour will make the issue worse." The Ministry of Defense in London said the shooting was an exchange of gunfire after British troops on a foot patrol near the Iranian consulate were ambushed. But Iranian Consul-General Mohammed Ridha Nasir Baghban said British forces had engaged in a "provocative act" that "could worsen the situation of the British sailors." "British forces should rely on wisdom and not react because of the British forces' detention. This reflects negatively.
US Senate ties
Iraq funds to pullout timetable
The US Senate on Thursday approved
a bill tying funding for the war in Iraq to a timetable for withdrawing US
troops, setting the stage for a confrontation with President George W. Bush. The
measure seeking to force a dramatic change in US Iraq policy, was approved by a
vote along party lines of 51 to 47. The bill sets mandatory start to a troop
pullout within 120 days of its final passage, and a guideline of March 21, 2008
for the completion of the withdrawal of most US combat forces.
Its passage sets up a showdown with the US president, who again on Thursday
adamantly rejected any time restrictions on the presence of US troops. "I'll
veto a bill that restricts our commanders on the ground in Iraq, a bill that
doesn't fund our troops, a bill that's got too much spending on it," Bush said
after meeting with Republican congressional allies. "When we've got a troop in
harm's way, we expect that troop to be fully funded. When we've got commanders
making tough decisions on the ground, we expect there to be no strings on our
commanders," the president said. Senate approval of the bill now puts both
chambers of Congress formally on record as calling on the president to wrap up
the war in Iraq during the course of the next year.
Ukraine
president threatens to dissolve parliament
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko threatened
on Thursday to dissolve parliament and hold early elections after months of
tensions between pro-Western and pro-Russian political forces. Either "we cool
hot heads" or "we take a political decision and organise early elections,"
Yushchenko said at a press conference in the city of Lugansk in eastern Ukraine
that was broadcast live on television. Yushchenko, a pro-Western politician,
accused the pro-Russian coalition in parliament, established after parliamentary
elections last year, of attempting to "usurp power" by trying to persuade
pro-Western lawmakers to switch sides. The crisis has paralysed political
activity in this former Soviet republic. Yushchenko, who served as chairman of
Ukraine's central bank before becoming an opposition leader, was brought to
power in a series of protests in 2004 against the government's pro-Russian
candidate, Viktor Yanukovych. Yanukovych became prime minister last year after
his party won the most votes in elections and the pro-Western parties that
backed the 2004 "orange revolution" failed to come to an agreement.

Coastal Mega-Cities In For A Bumpy Ride About 643 million people, or one-tenth of the world’s population, who live in low lying coastal areas are at great risk of oceans-related impacts of climate change, according to a global research study to be released next month. The 10 countries with the largest number of people living in this vulnerable, low-elevation zone, include in descending order: China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Egypt, the United States, Thailand and the Philippines. Cities such as Dhaka, Shanghai and Mumbai are some of the most susceptible to coastal, climate-related hazards such as floods, storms and cyclones. And the rapid urbanization occurring in these cities — especially in China, which has growing special economic zones along its coasts — will continue to attract more and more people.
Retreating Himalayan Icefields Threatening Drought In Bangladesh
Notorious for its annual floods,
Bangladesh may seem the last place in the world to worry about a drying up of
the rivers that flow from the Himalayas. But the country is as much at risk from
drought as it is from flooding. Already farmers who used to grow rice have
turned to farming prawns because the water in their fields has turned so salty
nothing will grow there.
Bangladesh is the front line of global warming, with rivers drying up, and
increasingly common freak weather conditions that include out-of-season
tornadoes and tides that have stopped changing. The entire country is one huge
delta, formed by the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers. Flooding may seem to
be Bangladesh's greatest enemy, but in fact the rivers are its lifeline. They
are the main source of fresh water for a country where agriculture represents 21
per cent of the economy. And environmentalists fear that if the Himalayan
glaciers melt, the rivers' flow will reduce drastically.
Must Read European colonialists conspired to destroy Khilafah On Monday 3rd March 1924 (28th Rajab 1342AH), the world woke to the news that Mustafa Kemal in Turkey had officially abolished the Khilafah. That night Abdul-Mejid II, the last Khaleefah of the Muslims, was bundled in to a car with a suitcase of clothes and money and exiled from Turkey, never to return. This is how 1342 years of Islamic rule ended. The following is a historical account of the actions of the colonial powers in first sowing the seeds of disunity amongst Muslims by implanting the idea of nationalism and then finally administering the destruction of the Khilafah state by their treacherous agents.
Mr. Bush, Your Arab League Summit is Convened This is not a summit of leaders but a trough of corrupt cowardly dictators whose self interest is above all considerations of faith, humanity, and service to their people. Oh, how history repeats itself in the Arab world.
