So here our values will answer those lies so that the liar has no excuse and to eliminate suspicion.

Is the American Empire on the Brink of Collapse? U.S. military expert Chalmers Johnson argues the catastrophe in Iraq and the staggering cost of running a military that stretches across 130 countries on 737 bases may finally cost America its empire. I believe that we're close to a tipping point right now. What happened to the Soviet Union between 1989 and 1991 could easily be happening to us for essentially the same reasons. Imperial overreach, inability to reform, rigid economic ideology. ... The world's balance of power didn't change one iota on September 11, 2001. The only way we could lose the power and influence we had at that time was through our own actions, and that's what we did.

The Violence of the Letter- Land Claims and Continuing Colonial Conquest in Canada The recent struggle over lands in southern Ontario near Caledonia points to the continuing problem with land-claims policy in Canada. This sentence could be used to begin an article every few years, only the place names change: the recent struggle at Grassy Narrows, the recent struggle at Stoney Point, the recent struggle at Oka. While there is a sense in which the current land-claims policy goes back to the beginnings of colonialism in Canada, the recent permutations are worth attention. Any understanding of contemporary conflicts needs to be informed by a strong and detailed sense of what has happened historically, as well as what is happening today.

What Does 'Holocaust Denial' Really Mean? For more than fifty years Jewish scholars have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to document each Jewish victim of the Nazi Holocaust. The Nazis were German, obsessed with record keeping. Yet only 3 million names have been collected and many of them died of natural causes. So why is it so wrong to doubt that fewer than 6 million Jews were murdered in the Second World War?

AIPAC and Anti-Gentile Racism It is time to change the terms of the debate. Instead of AIPAC critics defending themselves against accusations of anti-Semitism, it is time for AIPAC critics to make AIPAC defend itself against charges of anti-Gentile racism.

An Indian army official told media in Jammu that 16 army personnel have been arrested on charges of espionage. "This is a concern for Indian Army," he said. Kashmiris' firm resolve and commitment to continue their liberation struggle despite Indian military might, has caused hopelessness and helplessness among Indian army troops, who are now resorting to espionage. A number of incidents of fratricide have been reported in Indian army in recent months. There are reports of infighting between officers and their subordinates. In one such case, an Indian army colonel, who was initially reported to have committed suicide in Jammu region of occupied Kashmir recently, was actually assassinated by his colleagues on some petty issue.

India to go ahead with Iran gas pipeline: FM Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee signaled Monday that India intends to go ahead with a multi-billion-dollar gas pipeline from Iran via Pakistan despite objections from the United States. "Talks on this pipeline are going on. When I was in Iran, I had categorically mentioned that we are interested in having this pipeline," Mukherjee said in an interview with the local news network. "Now negotiations are going on about the prices," said the minister, who made a two-day vist to Tehran last month. Pakistan's top court seeks answers on missing Pakistan's Supreme Court on Monday gave the government two weeks to come up with information about hundreds of people who have gone missing after being taken in custody. The suspended head of the Supreme Court, Iftikhar Chaudhry, took up the issue of the missing persons last year. Justice Javed Iqbal, heading a three-member Supreme Court bench in place of suspended Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry said Monday, the court wanted to determine who had detained the missing and under what authority they had done so. “If they are not answerable to any ministry, they are certainly and surely answerable to this court,” Justice Iqbal said referring to security agencies. The issue had to be settled “not within months but within days”, he said, adding that the government was responsible for determining the whereabouts of the missing. He directed the attorney general, the government's top lawyer, to submit a concise reply on the issue in two weeks. The next hearing has been set for April 10.

Capitalism “There are two fruitcake religions infecting the USA right now: Kristianity and Ferengiism. By Ferengiism I mean the belief that you must do whatever makes you the most money no matter what the short or long term consequences to yourself or others. It is the state corporate religion.”

The biggest problem with capitalism is that its solutions are based purely on short term economics, how to provide a given service most cheaply to the consumer. Only producer and consumer are involved. However, in the process of providing that service, many others may be adversely affected, especially in the long term. They have no input into the decision making process. Examples would include such things as cars that pollute, boom boxes that can be heard for blocks, snowmobiles designed to harass wildlife, harsh chemicals that kill fish when improperly disposed of, or in an extreme case, atomic weapons. Capitalism fails to consider the big picture. It is sort of like looking at the world through gold-coloured glasses. It has no way of considering non-economic factors in decision making.

Radioactive waste coming to a location near you? Storing millions of bundles of intensely radioactive waste fuel underground in heavily populated southern and eastern Ontario is rapidly shaping up as a geologically safe choice, according to the nuclear industry. Earlier disposal studies by federal agencies concluded the Canadian Shield's granite was the only rock formation stable enough for the necessary millennia of storage. But a just released report from the industry-led Nuclear Waste Management Organization gives a tentative green light to locations like Toronto, London, Hamilton-Niagara, Windsor-Sarnia, Kingston, Ottawa and a swathe running from Kitchener- Waterloo to Barrie. Nuclear mausoleums could be buried a kilometre deep in these areas because the underlying sedimentary rock is low risk for fractures and water seepage, says the organization's annual report to the federal government. "Safety cases for repositories in sedimentary rock appear to be quite strong," the report says. The organization will not study a specific location until the federal government gives a green light to its favoured form of long-term storage.

About 1.9 million bundles of waste uranium fuel are now stored temporarily on site at Canada's 22 nuclear reactors, largely in concrete casks inside ordinary metal sheds on the surface. The waste can remain dangerously radioactive for as long as 100 centuries. More than $800 million has been spent by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Ontario Power Generation and others since 1978 on research into storing waste fuel bundles deep in the shield. The federal government has not yet responded to the organization's formal November 2005 recommendation for a $24-billion mausoleum, consisting of caverns excavated up to a kilometre below ground. Blair ‘threatened’ to resign if questioned in corruption probe The Sunday Telegraph newspaper disclosed on Monday that British Prime Minister Tony Blair had threatened to resign if questioned as a suspect by police in the “cash for honours” probe. The weekly said, detectives investigating the scandal wanted to interview Blair under caution but backed off after being warned that it could have triggered his resignation. The “cash for honors” investigation centres on reports that political parties, mainly Blair’s governing Labor Party, offered seats in parliament’s unelected upper chamber, the House of Lords, in return for financial assistance. The Sunday Telegraph said officers wanted to question Blair during the second of the two interviews conducted in December and January. They wanted him to clarify comments he made in the first interview about the cover-up by senior aides.

United Nations Implications In War Crimes I think that this is a very important question. It is relevant for the debate about what kind of United Nations we need to protect the international community or to protect the 192 member governments from the danger that certain other governments misuse their authority, their information, their finances and their power to serve their own interest, but against the interests of peace, the interests of justice and the interests of mankind.

Iran Faces Politically Diluted Sanctions on Nukes There are no sanctions on Iran's oil exports, which account for over 60 to 70 percent of the country's foreign exchange earnings. And there are no calls for a travel ban on Iranian officials -- both of which the Western powers were keen on imposing, but which were blocked by Russia and China. Perhaps equally important, there are no cut-offs in export credit guarantees, given mostly by European nations to companies trading with Iran. Just as the Russians and the Chinese are protecting their arms sales and military technology transfers to Iran, the Europeans have successfully sought protection for their firms trading with Tehran.

Iran Shia kafir President: Iran’s Legal and Peaceful Nuclear Activities Won’t Stop Shia kafir Iran President Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made it clear last night that on no account will the Iranian nation stop its peaceful and legal nuclear activities as unjustly demanded by UN Security Council Resolution 1747. In his first cabinet meeting of the new Iranian calendar year, the President dismissed Resolution 1747 as part of the hostile policies of Global Arrogance against Iran. He said the victorious powers of World War II have unjustly imposed themselves upon the international community through such illegal means as manipulation of the UN and permanent membership at the Security Council, in order to undermine the honour, independence and progress of independent nations including Iran.

President Ahmadinejad said the enemies of Iranian nation have once again made mistakes in their decisions and opposition to Iran’s progress despite the setbacks they have continued to suffer since the past 28 years ago in their confrontation with Iran. He said Iran’s foes should know that nothing will happen in Iran and only the reputation of international organizations will be discredited, while the international community will no longer consider these international bodies as trustworthy. Finally, referring to the important remarks of the Supreme Leader of Revolution on the first day of the Iranian New Year, President Ahmadinejad said the Iranian government is more determined and motivated than last year to serve the people and the goals of the Revolution, while striving for Iran’s development more than ever.

Making a Killing: America's Private Army and the Business of War These private companies are part of a huge surge in the outsourcing of war, which is extremely evident in Iraq, as well as Afghanistan, Colombia, Haiti, and numerous other countries. Private contractors are the second-largest con- tingent of the "Coalition of the Willing" with a ratio of about one armed con- tractor for every two American soldiers. This is up from a ratio of one to sixty during the first Gulf War. The Pentagon estimates the number of contractors at around 100,000—but this is only an estimate because after four years in Iraq the military is only now beginning a survey to find the size of its contractor force.

Quebec Muslim leader blasts media A Montreal Muslim leader is accusing the media of manufacturing a crisis that resulted in an abrupt change to Quebec election rules for veiled voters. A decision by chief returning officer Marcel Blanchet means anyone who votes in Monday's election must uncover their face before casting a ballot. That includes Muslim women. Muslim Council of Montreal president Salam Elmenyawi says women wearing niqabs at the polls had been such a "non-issue" he didn't know electors were previously not obliged to show their faces to vote. Elmenyawi says the news reports that broadcast the old rule and related it to Muslim women fanned the flames of hatred in Quebec.

Counterinsurgency Manual Shows Canadian Military's New Face The manual will guide Canadian Forces doctrine and training well into the future, according to a draft edition obtained by IPS. A 250-page publication, the field manual outlines the principles and practices of fighting the kind of insurgencies that have come to define warfare for the Western powers in the 21st century, in places like Chechnya, Afghanistan and Iraq. Meanwhile, an Afghanistan-focused policy group, the Senlis Council, released the "alarming" results of a survey this week which polled 17,000 people in southern and eastern Afghanistan. The survey showed that one-half of respondents believe the Western-led war will fail to defeat the Taliban, and 87 percent of respondents believed that the tactics used by the Western forces in dealing with the insurgency were "not right".

"The results from the survey are extremely alarming because they indicate that the international community is in serious trouble in Afghanistan," Senlis Council president Norine MacDonald said in a statement Monday.

Mauritania: Deviating from Islam by dirty games in democracy Mauratania has long been torn by the dictators who ruled the innocent people of the country, corrupting their mentality and oppressing them. Upon learning that such tactics of oppression never mark the survival of any leader, the dictators decided to co-operate with the people by using devilish ideologies of democracy under command of the Western powers.

World's Biggest Debtor Nation: America On Top Again The typical American family is buried in debt. According to the Federal Reserve Fund, household debt equals almost 25 percent of net household worth, or 136 percent of disposable income. After wages fell behind inflation for a decade, Americans mortgaged their homes and ran up their credit cards to cover living expenses.

AIPAC: a foreign agent controlling the US government AIPAC is the leading player in what is sometimes referred to as "The Israel Lobby"--a coalition that includes major Jewish groups, neoconservative intellectuals and Christian Zionists. With its impressive contacts among Hill staffers, influential grassroots supporters and deep connections to wealthy donors, AIPAC is the lobby's key emissary to Congress. But in many ways, AIPAC has become greater than just another lobby; its work has made unconditional support for Israel an accepted cost of doing business inside the halls of Congress.

TV Evangelist John Hagee Wants War With Iran, and He Wants It Now! An even bigger obsession for dispensationalists has always been Israel. For the average dispensationalist, modern-day secular Israel is going to be the focal point in the end-times. Therefore, if the Bible really does teach in Daniel 9:27 that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is going to be torn down for a rebuilt Jewish Temple, why should any of us seek to prevent it? Sure, it very well might ignite a regional war and even ignite tensions around the world, but it's all part of God’s prophetic plan. Not to worry though, things might not get really ugly until after the "rapture," so the Christians today who are cheering for events that would bring about World War III won’t have to worry about it anyway. Unless of course, they are wrong about the whole thing.

An open letter to Jose Manuel Barroso -- Response to an interview in The Daily Telegraph (UK) about "Political Correctness" : Islam is not the enemy of the West; it has been the West that has never accepted Islam since its inception.

Calling Out Idiot America Sadly, Congress’ smoke-and-mirrors approach to the Iraq war creates the impression of much activity while generating no result. Even more sadly, the majority of Americans are falling for the act, either by continuing their past trend of political disengagement or by thinking that the gesticulation and pontification taking place in Washington, D.C., actually translate into useful work. The fact is, most Americans are ill-placed intellectually, either through genuine ignorance, a lack of curiosity or a combination of both, to judge for themselves the efficacy of congressional behavior when it comes to Iraq. Congress claims to be searching for a solution to Iraq, and many Americans simply accept that this is this case.

I am right. You are wrong. You are dead! People will readily go to war once they have been impregnated with a sufficient intensity of hate, mixed with the essential ingredient of fear. They will eagerly follow any leader who promises (however spuriously) to protect them from what they are told to hate and/or fear. The masses can be programmed to hate, and these masterminds know it well.

The crushing fear that stalks America There's a helluva difference between Cairo University and the campus of Valdosta in the Deep South of the United States. I visited both this week and I feel like I've been travelling on a gloomy spaceship - or maybe a time machine - with just two distant constellations to guide my journey. One is clearly named Iraq; the other is Fear. They have a lot in common.

Richard Holbrooke, Samantha Power, and the “Worthy-Genocide” Establishment Worthy genocides are those mass killings carried out by bad people, notably U.S. enemies and targets, and they receive great attention and elicit much passion; the unworthy ones are carried out by the United States or one of its client states, and they receive little attention or indignation and are not labelled genocides, even where the scale of killings greatly exceeds those so designated, obviously based on political utility. As the United States is an aggressive superpower that has been “projecting power” and opposing popular and revolutionary movements on a global scale since World War II, a very good case can be made that the unworthy genocides that it has carried out or supported have been predominant over the past half century—that it has been the source of more “problems from hell” than any other state.

Silence of the Lambs? Proof of US orchestration of Death Squads Killings in Iraq What made Professor Samarree’s story most striking were the details of his release. Professor Samarree’s physical condition was so bad when the American soldiers discovered the facility that he, along with around a dozen other detainees, was instantly taken to a local hospital. Here, he and his companions remained without access to lawyers, journalists, officials or even a telephone. In fact, it quickly became clear that these victims of torture were to be returned to Iraqi detention. Professor Samarree, another of whose sons lives in the United States, was fortunate to be able to persuade an American solider to take pity on him and assist him and two of his companions to escape. The last words the soldier said to Professor Samarree were ‘Run, run. Don’t look back!’

Further reflections on the proposed break up of Iraq I’ve been thinking more about the reaction by Iraqis to the proposed destruction of their country. With repeated attacks ascribed to Sunnis on Shi’ite targets, the only thing keeping the country from falling into a complete civil war is the realization by Iraqis that it is much more likely that these attacks are the work of agents provocateurs, attempting to break up the country on the principles of people like Oded Yinon (see, e.g., here and here and here). The conclusion isn’t difficult if you consider the absence of motive for Sunnis to attack Shi’ites and the possibility of other motives, including organized crime, individual or tribal disputes allowed to run unimpeded in the absence – thanks to the occupiers – of rule of law, the fact that the Americans – still looking to be showered with rose petals – would prefer to cast the Iraqi resistance as an internal Iraqi religious battle, and – predominantly – the Zionist conspiracy to cause civil war in Iraq.

General Petraeus & High Level Suicide in Iraq: Now, a new article reveals -- based on documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act -- that Westhusing's apparent suicide note included claims that his two commanders tolerated a mission based on "corruption, human right abuses and liars." One of those commanders: the new leader of the "surge" campaign in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus.

Westhusing, 44, had been found dead in a trailer at a military base near the Baghdad airport in June 2005, a single gunshot wound to the head. At the time, he was the highest-ranking officer to die in Iraq. The Army concluded that he committed suicide with his service pistol. Westhusing was an unusual case: “one of the Army's leading scholars of military ethics, a full professor at West Point who volunteered to serve in Iraq to be able to better teach his students. He had a doctorate in philosophy; his dissertation was an extended meditation on the meaning of honor,” Miller explained in his L.A. Times piece.

This Joke's on Us: The Gutless Mini-Politics of the Congressional Democrats Despite polls showing that 6 in 10 Americans want the U.S. out of Iraq asap, the best that this crew can come up with is a call-not binding, or course-for the president to pull out the troops by next spring or even summer. That would be over a year from now, and more than five years (!) into this criminal and incredibly stupid war.

At the rate things have been going, it would also be perhaps 1000 more dead Americans, 14,000 more gravely wounded Americans, and 100-150,000 more dead Iraqis later. And in offering this limp request, Congress is in the process of approving the appropriation of another $122 million in spending on the War in Iraq and the War in Afghanistan.

US senators ask Musharraf to hold free elections Four leading US senators have asked President Pervez Musharraf to ensure that the 2007 elections are open and to allow all legitimate parties and candidates to contest the elections, including the senior leadership of the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League (N). A letter jointly signed by Senators Joseph Biden, John Kerry, Patrick J Leahy and Blanche L Lincoln and sent to the President, points out the arrests, abuse and harassment of government critics including politicians and newsmen after 2002 elections.

UNSC Issues Anti-Iran Resolution Pressed by the US and Britain, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) issued another illegal resolution against Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities on Saturday evening in New York. According to IRIB, UNSC 1747 Resolution unjustifiably calls on Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment process, under threat of restrictions on Iran’s imports and exports. The anti-Iran resolution also wants the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief to submit a report to the IAEA Board of Governors, within the next 60 days, on whether or not Iran has buckled under pressure and accepted the unjust demands of Resolution 1747.

Britain's power groups pursue nuclear option Britain's leading energy companies have held secret talks with British Energy, the electricity generator, about building a new generation of nuclear power stations. Executives from Scottish & Southern Energy and Centrica, the utilities giant that owns British Gas, are understood to have had discussions in recent weeks.

Although the talks are at a very early stage, they are the first sign that domestic energy suppliers are considering an active role in Britain's nuclear future when the Government gives the go-ahead for new nuclear stations later this year. So far only continental European energy groups such as France's EdF have publicly stated their interest in participating in a new generation of nuclear reactors in Britain. British Energy, which generates about a fifth of Britain's electricity from its eight nuclear power stations, last month called for external investors to help fund its investment in what is likely to be a £30bn nuclear programme over the coming years.

uranium Uranium is a naturally radioactive material normally used for nuclear power to generate electricity. It consists of three isotopes -- uranium-234, uranium-235 and uranium-238. However, only uranium-235 is capable of sustaining chain reactions. Though many may view nuclear technology as extremely complicated, the opposite is true -- at least for nefarious purposes. A simple gun-like mechanism could easily be assembled to set off an explosive chain reaction by colliding masses of uranium-235. About 110,000 pounds of highly enriched uranium currently fuel about 140 civilian nuclear reactors across the globe, as well as the reactors powering nine Arctic icebreakers. 132 pounds of highly enriched uranium was contained in the Nuclear bomb which was used by American Christian kafir terrorists military to destroyed millions of lives at Hiroshima.

Cheney assures early Iraq pullout won't be allowed US Vice President Dick Cheney assured political allies that an early withdrawal of US forces from Iraq would not be allowed, despite efforts by Congress to impose a deadline on US combat operations there. The comments followed an unprecedented vote Friday in the House of Representatives, which called for a pullout of US combat troops from Iraq by August 31, 2008 -- regardless of whether Iraqi security forces are ready to take over from them or not. Cheney reassured allies that the current standoff would not result in a precipitous US withdrawal from Iraq.

New York police spied on peace activists in US, Europe: report  New York police mounted a massive operation ahead of the 2004 Republican National Convention with undercover agents collecting information on peace activists at home and abroad, a US newspaper said. Citing unspecified police records and interviews, the newspaper said the New York City Police Department intelligence operation started at least a year before the Republican gathering. Undercover New York police officers attended meetings of political groups across the United States, as well as in Canada and Europe, posing as sympathizers or fellow activists, the report said.

They made friends, shared meals, exchanged e-mail messages and then filed daily reports with the department's intelligence division, the paper noted. Other investigators mined Internet sites and chat rooms. These operations helped the police identify a handful of groups and individuals who expressed interest in creating disturbances during the convention. But potential troublemakers were not the only ones to end up in the files, the paper said. In hundreds of reports stamped "NYPD Secret," the intelligence division chronicled the views and plans of people who had no apparent intention of breaking the law, the report said.

Mirwaiz makes emphatic call for detainees' release The Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has made an emphatic call for immediate release of thousands of illegally detained Kashmiri political workers, languishing in various jails of occupied Kashmir and India.

India test-fires air-to-air missile An Indian defense ministry official said India on Sunday successfully tested an indigenously developed air-to-air missile with a range of up to 80 kilometers. According to news agencies, the official said on condition of anonymity, as he was not authorized to talk to reporters, the missile, "Astra" is being developed for the Indian air force and it can be fired from a fighter aircraft without being detected by radar. India and longtime rival Pakistan regularly test-fire missiles, but normally only give each other notice for long range launches. It was not immediately clear whether India informed neighboring Pakistan, also a declared nuclear power, ahead of Sunday's test.

India resists US pressure on pipeline project Indian petroleum minister Murli Deora on Saturday announced that New Delhi will not buckle under any pressure including that of the US concerning the joint pipeline project to import gas from the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the Indian daily Financial Express, Deora said, no country can debar India from this project, which he termed the pipeline of peace and progress. Deora’s statement follows the meddling remarks of US energy secretary Samuel W. Bodman, during his visit to India last week, when he said the US does not approve of Iran’s importing of gas from Iran, since the revenues would be used by Tehran to fund its nuclear programme.

INDIA - Project-Displaced Camp in India's Capital  Thousands of women and men, most of them dirt-poor and marginalised from India's villages, have sat day after day, their emaciated children in tow, listening to each other's stories of loss and protest, deprivation and abuse. Policies of economic globalisation and markets pursued single-mindedly by the government have hit India's small farmers and unorganised workers the hardest. Everywhere, small groups have mobilised into campaigns to resist the sweeping changes being introduced recklessly in a despairing countryside.

Australian city aims for world first climate change blackout Australia's largest city will be plunged into darkness for an hour in an attempt at a world first blackout to raise awareness of global warming, organisers say. A successful switch-off could then be copied by major cities around the world in a drive to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions blamed for climate change, according to international conservation group WWF.

Five Taliban Mujahideen were freed in exchange for the Italian journalist Five Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were released on March 20, in exchange for the Italian journalist who was captured by Mujahideen two weeks ago. The exchange which happened with the tribal chiefs in Helmand province. The free Mujahideen were Mofti Latifullah Hakimi who was the spokesman of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Ustad Mohammad Yasar chief of cultural committee of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the other three were Mullah Akhter Mohammad, Qari Hamdullah and Mullah Abdul Ghafar. They were captives in Poul charkhy jail for two years or three years.

Another Casualty: Coverage of the Iraq War The primary reason why reporting from Iraq is dangerous for all journalists is the horrific security situation. Iraqi journalists reporting from the streets are in perpetual danger. If any of the countless militias does not want a certain story made public, it will make sure that the journalist has filed his or her last story. Not to mention the scores of reporter deaths which have been the combined handiwork of the Iraqi government, occupation forces and/or criminal gangs.

Despite President Bush’s assertion that life in Iraq is improving, a senior Iraqi journalist was found dead in the capital on March 3, 2007. On the same day the body of the managing editor of Baghdad’s al-Safir newspaper, Jamal al-Zubaidi, was found shot in the head.

Nothing but Fascists The war on Iraq was not carried out on the basis of mere strategic interests. No strategies or interests could explain the level of death and destruction that Iraq had undergone ever since the Gulf War in 1991. If one were to assume that the US led invasion in 2003 is a continuation of that war, then Iraq could be said to have suffered more horrors than any country had, including the countries that were involved the WWII. We are talking about at least two and a half million Iraqi civilians who had met their fate, where 750,000 of them were killed during the last four years. That figure represents 10% of Iraq’s population. In addition, you have over three and a half million Iraqis displaced (two million of them fled outside the country while the other1.5 million lost their homes and became displaced inside their own country). That is 14% of the population.

Mythologizing War: The Hidden Abuse and Exploitation of Members of the Military, Veterans, and Gold Star Families Despite recent revelations regarding patient neglect and mismanagement at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and within the Veterans Administration, the extent of the impropriety to which members of the military, veterans, and Gold Star Families have been subjected has yet to be fully realized. Sometimes mistreatment, even exploitation, is not as apparent to the casual observer as are walls covered with fungus and rooms infested with vermin. The abuse of which I speak, the mythologizing of war, is far more subtle, hidden within a tangle of political deceit and manipulation, but equally as harmful, malicious, and disgraceful.

The Sheikh and The Torture Senator Except you don’t know what the results are. In the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, it appears that with torture you can get someone to confess to masterminding the entire al-Qaeda attack on the United States. Senior FBI officials are questioning some of Sheikh Mohammed’s assertions of guilt and remind us of the FBI’s concern about torture techniques used by both the CIA and the US military on prisoners in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo, techniques that can elicit confessions just to get the torturers to stop.

Twilight Zone / Dress code What won't the Shin Bet security service do to break the spirit of a Palestinian detainee? Before, interrogators used threats and told detainees that their loved ones were being arrested because of them. Now they even put on the show. Under false pretenses, agents brought the wife and the aged father of a security detainee to a Shin Bet interrogation facility, where they forced him to remove his kaffiyeh in order to humiliate him, then dressed him in a prisoner's uniform, held him by both arms and, through a window, displayed him to his son, who has been kept for weeks in isolation, without the opportunity to meet with a lawyer.

Demilitarization to ensure final solution Attempt to malign liberation struggle Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Maulana Abbas Ansari has emphasized that demilitariztion of Jammu and Kashmir will create conducive circumstances to move towards a final settlement of the Kashmir dispute. Addressing Pakistan Day function in New Delhi, he urged India to stop immediately state-terrorism in occupied Kashmir. He pointed out that human rights violations by Indian troops and dialogue process could not go in tandem. The APHC spokesman, in a statement in Srinagar today said that it has come to the knowledge of the Hurriyat headquarters in Srinagar that Indian secret agencies have devised a new plan to malign Kashmiris’ liberation struggle. He added that the plan consisted of mock conversations recorded in video and audio CDs and cassettes, showing the involvement of Mujahideen in anti-people activities.

Gujarat govt admits killing Muslim youth In a startling revelation the government of Indian state of Gujarat has admitted in the Supreme Court that the killing of Muslim youth Shorabuddin by the police in 2005, suspecting him to be plotting the assassination of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, was a fake encounter. A joint team of the anti-terrorist squad of the Gujarat police and special task force of Rajasthan had killed Shorabuddin after making him and his wife alight from a bus on way to Sangli from Ahmedabad. His brother Rubabuddin’s petition for probing the killing was listed before a Bench. The counsel for the Gujarat Government admitted that it was a fake encounter. Rubabuddin had also said that after the killing of his brother, his wife also went missing and apparently had been eliminated by the police for fear of being exposed. He added that co-passenger Tulsi Ram Prajapati, who had brought to light the killing, was also found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Killing and torture of innocent muslims by infidels of kremlin regime and russian secret agents People in the North Caucasian republic of Ingushetia have expressed outrage at the killing of a local man, which they say is only the latest in a string of murder and inhuman killing by russian secret agents.

Russian Puppet Mufti goes haywire - pleases and supports kremlin regime There are a number of so called muftis who try to please people but forget that a small mistake can bring terrible punishment from Allah. We are not in this world to please people or be their slave. Unfortunately most people forget that. We are slaves of Allah and our duty is to work and think for the ummah and help its brothers and sisters.

Southern Ocean Current Faces Slowdown Threat The impact of global warming on the vast Southern Ocean around Antarctica is starting to pose a threat to ocean currents that distribute heat around the world, Australian scientists say, citing new deep-water data.

Plugging into solar power Calls for Arizona to become "the Middle East of solar energy" sound good to environmentally conscious consumers who want to cut reliance on fossil fuels. That goal is achievable, say solar promoters. Though Arizona is widely touted as the sunniest state in the nation, solar energy accounts for less than 1 percent of the power produced commercially here. Changing that would require a hefty upfront investment, advocates say. But it would pay off in a clean, endlessly renewable power source. They say government must lead the way.

Clean coal would cost billions: Energy department puts $4 billion annual price tag on cleansing process Coal-fired power plants have become the focus of carbon sequestration efforts because they are the principal emitters, followed by automobiles, office buildings and residential homes. In recent decades, modern industry has devised technologies for trapping pollutants such as fly ash, mercury, sulphur and nitrogen oxides, leaving carbon dioxide as the remaining obstacle to turning coal into a clean fuel.

The Case Of Academic Complicity In The Violence Against Dalit And Dalit Women In India Author's contribution here is more of a study done by the higher castes (privileged) on 'caste issues in India'. Approach of study is more of explaining and narrating the way it is. No painstaking efforts are made in these and many such studies to understand the governing mechanisms and reasons for perpetuation of inhuman caste system. Nor is any attempt made to find out the reason as to why caste system is so painful to the victim and how to resolve it. Or at least cope up with the oppressive situation. On the contrary such reports have always remained the space for most of the higher castes researchers/academics to show to the world that how this system of caste is so unique and advanced form of stratification in the ancient times. Probably its compartmentalisation, the division of groups in hierarchical closed compartments, is fascinating to these city-dweller researchers. Considering or portraying caste as a part of 'rich cultural heritage' hides from reader the possibility of asking the queries that why such systems have been created at the first place. The system has tormented majority people (all women-even the Brahmin women, all lower castes, tribes etc.) in India and disabled the whole country because caste based inequalities reflect in every aspects of the Indian society. Whether it is corruption in day to day life on the basis of caste based favours or selection in the creative opportunities like sports, arts, music led and influenced by such sectarian power politics under the guise of 'third world's biggest democracy'. And as a result India is gaining failure in return.

Documents Show US Attorney General Took Part in Firings Contrary to his earlier assertions, US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales took part in a confidential meeting on firing seven out of eight US attorneys now at the center of a political controversy, documents released late Friday show. The e-mails and other papers sent by the Justice Department to Congress indicate that on November 27, Gonzales attended an hour-long meeting on the firings with his then-chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, the man in charge of putting together a list of those to be dismissed. According to the documents, in late November, Sampson was still struggling with the task as he tried to determine which prosecutors would lose their jobs. The list was finalized days after his meeting with Gonzales in the attorney general's conference room, and the seven attorneys were formally notified of their dismissals on December 7. The eighth attorney was fired earlier. A calendar entry showed that the subject of the meeting was the future of US attorneys. The documents contradict Gonzales's earlier assurances that he played no active role in the firings that have since mushroomed into a heated political dispute between Democratic-controlled Congress and the White House.

Israel Lobby Targets Tax Honesty Movement: Are Kidd, Becraft, Banister and Schulz “Extremists”? As we reported in our previous article, the upcoming Give Me Liberty 2007 conference will examine U.S. Middle East Policy through the prism of the U.S. Constitution. During the conference we will examine the work of professors Mearsheimer (University of Chicago) and Walt (Harvard University) titled, “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy,” and the book by Jimmy Carter titled, Palestine Peace Not Apartheid.

Substantial documentary evidence presented by Mearsheimer, Walt and Carter supports the argument that the United States has abandoned its own national interest and security to advance the interests of Israel, that neither strategic nor moral arguments can justify America’s unconditional support for Israel, that the United States has become the de facto enabler of Israel’s unlawful expansion and military occupation of the Palestinian Territories, and that U.S. policy in the Middle East (including giving Israel well over $140 billion in U.S. income tax revenues) has been driven by the activities of the “Israel Lobby.”

America Calls For Foreign Mercenaries As War Enters 5th Year   As the United States war against the Muslim peoples of the World enters its 5th year this weekend, and as the American Defense Chief, Robert Gates, warns his countrymen that they will be involved in war for ‘decades to come’, the vast American war machine has now turned to Foreign Mercenaries to fill its vastly undermanned ranks. For many years the warning calls have been sounded that the US Military has reached it’s ‘breaking point’, and as we can read as reported by the BBC News Service:

"The US military has become dangerously overstretched because of the scale of its operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, two reports have warned. One, by former officials in the Clinton administration, said the pressure of repeated deployments was very corrosive and could have long-term effects."

Even more troubling for the Americans, according to one of their Military Historians and senior fellow of the National Security Studies group at the Council on Foreign Relations, Max Boot, is that their soldiers are now ‘losing the will to fight’, and as he states:

"Our (US) will is perhaps [at] the point of breaking in Iraq, whereas the enemy is willing to suffer much heavier casualties and keep on fighting. Clearly, the will to win is a major aspect of it."

Rape fears lead women soldiers to suicide, death The latrine for female soldiers at Camp Victory wasn’t located near their barracks, so they had to go outside if they needed to use the bathroom, Karpinski told retired U.S. Army Col. David Hackworth in a interview, Cohn reported. “There were no lights near any of their facilities, so women were doubly easy targets in the dark of the night.” It was there that male soldiers assaulted and raped women soldiers.

Iran will never build nuclear weapons, says Khatami Former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami has pledged Iran will never develop nuclear weapons and called for the crisis over Iran's atomic programme to be settled through talks, a report said Saturday. "Iran will never go for nuclear weapons," Khatami told a media conference in the city, according to the local newspaper. "Weapons of mass destruction have never been our objective," he said. Iran was always ready to give an "objective guarantee" on its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons and the issue should be solved "through negotiations," he added.

British sailors admit entering Iran waters: Iran military Fifteen British sailors and marines detained off Iraq by the Iranian navy have admitted illegally entering Iranian waters, senior Iranian commander General Alireza Afshar said on Saturday. "They are currently being questioned and have admitted to violating the territorial waters of Iran," Afshar, the official spokesman of the army chief of staff, told the local news agency. He told the Arabic language service of state television: "We have solid evidence that they were detained in our territorial waters. They themselves have confessed and admitted their mistake."

EU presidency urges Iran to release British sailors The German presidency of the European Union on Saturday urged the immediate release of 15 British naval personnel seized by Iranian forces in the Gulf. "We demand the immediate release of the British soldiers," German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters ahead of a meeting of European socialists.

Pakistan to conduct more tests of latest missiles: Dr Samar National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM ) Chairman and renowned scientist Dr Samar Mobarakmand said Saturday that Pakistan has become the third country of the world to prepare the latest missile technology after the successful test of Babar Cruise Missile. Talking to Geo News after a ceremony here, the nuclear scientist said Pakistan will conduct latest missiles tests before long, adding, “Pakistan is not at par with USA; however, it is far ahead of its neighbour, as we possess far superior technology across Asia.” Dr Samar Mobarakmand said the production of Shaheen Missile has begun and it has been handed over to Pakistan Army. Five years ago, we had only six nuclear scientists; but, now their number has crossed ten thousand, he added.

Jihad The Muslim world today is faced with tyranny and injustice. Indeed oppression and hardship is not just limited to the Muslim world, rather many non-Muslim states are subject to oppression at the hands of the world's leading military and economic powers. Anyone who cares can only be saddened and hurt by the pain and suffering that accompanies so many faces. Islam has allowed jihad as a means to prevent oppression, yet the Muslims have forgotten this for too long.

Though jihad may be a part of the answer to the problems of the ummah, it is an extremely important part. Jihad is to offer ourselves to Allah for His Cause. Indeed, every person should according to Islam prepare himself/herself for jihad and every person should eagerly and patiently wait for the day when Allah will call them to show their willingness to sacrifice their lives. We should all ask ourselves if there is a quicker way to heaven? It is with this in mind that this booklet is being published.

An Offer You Can’t Refuse And now, we have the ‘mother’ of all your screw-ups and fly-by-night deals, the state of Israel…The source of all unrest in the world today and the fountain from which flow waters of nothing but trouble and woe. The ‘Great Experiment’ in Jewish self-rule that has turned out to be a big goose egg for 6 billion people on the planet. Talk about fraudulent investment schemes that leave naïve investors holding a piece of paper worth less than a bubble gum wrapper. One day it will be remembered as the biggest scam, the biggest black hole in mankind’s history, like the search for the Fountain of Youth or trying to turn some worthless metal like lead into gold. An entire half century now of ceaseless warfare resulting in the deaths of millions of people, the loss of billions of dollars and the spilling of trillions of gallons of blood and tears, and what does the world have to show for it?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing, except of course that huge trail of tears you created for your victims. The rest of us have been forced to expend our most precious resources and sacrifice the peace and order of our respective nations just so that you Jews–one seemingly insignificant group of self-absorbed people–could have your turn at bat and have that thing which you have not been able to achieve on your own through hard work and ingenuity throughout your entire history–a country of your own, and with it the reason for which countries exist–stability, peace and prosperity. In all fairness though, you don’t deserve ALL the blame for this disaster, as the rest of us should have known from history that nothing of any good could come from this boondoggle.

Islamic Courts Mujahideen storm the city At least 15 of the enemy forces were killed and 2 captured and loaded them into a pick truck before the Islamic forces withdrew from the area, same operation were carried in other 3 districts of the city, as day broke well into magrib paryers fighting was still continuing in the animal market of Mogadishu.

“Damned Proud” of Dead Arab Women & Children Former ambassador to the UN John Bolton told the BBC that before any ceasefire Washington wanted Israel to eliminate Hezbollah’s military capability.” Bolton said it was “perfectly legitimate and good politics” for Israel to seek to crush Hezbollah. The fact that the Israelis used U.S. bombs to wreak death and destruction throughout Lebanon is apparently irrelevant. More than a thousand Lebanese civilians were killed by the Israeli government, with the Bush team cheering on each detonation. AIPAC, the most powerful lobby in DC, bragged of its role in blocking any ceasefire.

Perle's New World Order -- And Ours? He mocked opponents of American policy, both at home and abroad, as soft and naive. His vision is clear: States that possess weapons of mass destruction or terrorists will be confronted by ''coalitions of the willing'' -- the best hope for ''a new world order.'' Perle rejected any pretense for collective security; the United States has the only legitimate claim to enforce the new order. If others want to sign on as active or passive members of the coalition, fine; if not, it is of no consequence.

A new dividing line in Europe It hardly matters that the "realists" seem to be back in charge of US foreign policy, since when it comes to Russia, they will continue to tighten the noose of containment. Russia is not without its own resources to defend its interests and divide the European players. In this new Great Game, what really counts is access to the energy resources in Central Asia.

American Christian kafir terrorists occupation military led NATO terrorist troops 'shoot dead Afghan child' A distraught Afghan father said Friday his 12-year-old son was shot in the head by NATO terrorists troops on Thursday in the latest in a series of civilian deaths involving American Christian kafir terrorists occupation military soldiers and NATO terrorist troops. The boy's father, named only Zemarai, denied trying to overtake the convoy while driving seven of his relatives home after visiting family. He also said he had been several hundreds metres (yards) away and was not aware of warning shots. "All of a sudden they opened fire at our vehicle," he said from his home, filled with wailing mourners ahead of the burial of young Zaryalai. "The first three bullets hit my car and the fourth one hit my 12-year old son on the side of his head," the father said, his voice breaking with emotion. The boy made no sound and Zemarai only realised the child was dead when he stopped the car.

Shssh! Don't Tell Americans How We Treat "Enemy Combatants" In fact, U.S. officials are doing the same thing with respect to "enemy combatants" that the CIA has been holding for years in its secret overseas prisons. They say the prisoners should not be permitted to reveal what the CIA has done to them because to do so would threaten "national security."

Two more American Christian kafir terrorists occupation military troops killed in Iraq by Mujahideen The American Christian kafir terrorists occupation military announced Friday the deaths of two more servicemen in Iraq. A soldier was killed on Thursday when a roadside bomb exploded alongside a military patrol in west Baghdad. A marine was killed in combat operations in the Anbar province.

America's original sin  The illegal invasion and destruction of Iraq is not only the biggest crime of recent history, it is the original sin of the 21st century, a depravity. In its war on Iraq, the United States has sought to destroy Iraq as both a state and a nation.

It decimated an entire class -- the progressive middle class of Iraq that had proven its capacity to manage Iraqi resources independently and to the benefit of all; it killed nearly a million while sending millions more into exile; it orchestrated death squads and looting and invented new horrors in torture and rape; in the name of bringing democracy, it brought material destruction on a mass scale to a people, aiming also to erase their identity, memory, culture, social fabric, institutions and forms of administration, commerce, and everyday life; it even attacked Iraq's unborn generations with the 4.7 billion-year death of depleted uranium.

Indian army to deploy supersonic BrahMos missile The Indian army is to start deploying the supersonic BrahMos missile this year, the CEO of the joint Indian-Russian manufacturer said in an interview with a Russian newspaper Friday. The missile, a version of which is already used by the Indian navy, underwent successful testing and is now ready for use, the official said. The BrahMos has a range of 280 kilometres (175 miles) and has been developed by Indian and Russian experts since 2001. Pillai said “a large quantity” of the BrahMos rockets would be delivered to the Indian army and for deployment on mobile launchers.

Soros and Media Heavyweights Attack Pro-Israel Lobby’s Influence on U.S. Policy Soros singled out Aipac as a key source of the problem, accusing the lobby of pushing a hawkish agenda on Israeli-Palestinian issues. “Aipac under its current leadership has clearly exceeded its mission, and far from guaranteeing Israel’s existence, has endangered it,” he wrote.

Ex-Guantanamo inmate contests Australian poll An ex-Mujahideen suspect who was jailed for more than three years in the American Christian kafir terrorists military in Guantanamo Bay prison will be among the candidates when Australia's most populous state goes to the polls on Saturday. Mamdouh Habib is regarded as a rank outsider for the seat he is contesting in suburban Sydney but said he hoped to send a message to the state of New South Wales, home to seven million of Australia's 20 million population.

Jews and American Media GRAHAM: "The Jewish stranglehold on the media has got to be broken or this country's going down the drain."

NIXON: "You believe that?"

GRAHAM: "Yes, sir."

NIXON: "Oh boy. So do I. I can't ever say that but I do believe it."

- Religious leader Billy Graham and President Richard Nixon Exchange captured on tape.

Part of the Zionists' control of this country's policies toward Israel comes through their extensive influence on the American and world media. The main reason for this is the strong presence of Jewish owners in the media and their presence in the editorial rooms as writers and editors that gives Zionists such influence. In addition, when one word in a media outlet is said publically against Israel, the Zionists are quick to organize a boycott of that newspaper, radio station, TV station or movie corporation calling them anti-Semitic (i.e. the movie, "The Passion of Christ") and unfairly trying to conjur up all the images that they've kept in the public mind with that term - what one writer calls the use of the "holocaust syndrome."

Here is a sample of the bias Palestinians face in our
