Military activity in Chechnya increases Russian invaders and the Chechen munafiq puppets continue to insist that war in Chechnya has ended. Finding an intelligent alternative to the war of terrorism It is not Muslims who are diligently involved in exposing the roots of disparity, the causes of injustice and mechanisms of exploitation which the imperial centres in the West are employing. It is non-Muslim scholars. An intelligent response to global “jihadism” lies in asking the right questions as discussed below.

US-EU : An International Double Standard If Asia is rising once again, much of the credit goes to the body of knowledge that originated in Western societies. This columnist is himself a beneficiary of the education provided in India by Christian missionaries who set up schools and colleges across the country more than 150 years ago, at a time when almost none within the many echelons of the British colonial administration believed the subject population to be either deserving of such education or competent enough to absorb it. The foundation laid in India by Jesuit, Anglican and other Christian educationists is what the present system rests on, and which turns out millions of brainworkers for industries across the globe, especially in Information Technology, Medicine, Engineering and increasingly, in Services. A reasonable fluency in the English language (though fortunately not in the accent) has meant the exposure of almost 300 million people in India to western modes of thought. Across other countries in Asia, Africa and South America as well, an influential and increasing middle class is internalizing and accepting as axiomatic concepts learnt from western textbooks such as universal human rights and values, which place the giving and getting of freedom and dignity at the core of a civilised society. Even within societies with an unbroken tradition of authoritarianism, the democratic spirit is gaining strength against despots It is this very section of local society, one respectful of and familiar with western standards of societal behaviour, that is bewildered at the perceived international double standard practiced by the US and the EU, which posits an "Us and Them" division of the international community into western ( now expanded to include the former Soviet east bloc) and non-western components, with a handful of countries such as Japan treated (as was the case in apartheid-era South Africa) as "honorary westerners".

The moral bankruptcy of the European Union in its policies towards Cuba
The European Union as a political entity is on its deathbed. Its role on the international scene is considerably diminished by its inability to form a foreign policy independent of the lines set down by Washington. It obediently follows the bellicose directives of the Bush administration, especially toward Cuba. Indeed, it lets itself be used in campaigns against the Havana government with a puzzling servility. Even worse, it makes itself an accomplice to the massive human rights violations committed by the CIA, a complicity that leads it into an unprecedented moral bankruptcy.

Blueprint for Dictatorship Recent legislation sets us up for tyranny America is headed for a military dictatorship – and recent legislation makes this all but inevitable. Last September, Congress passed the Defense Authorization Act, which empowered the president to declare martial law with very little provocation, namely in the aftermath of a "terrorist attack or incident." Having determined that "the execution of the laws" is hampered by the "incident," the president can unilaterally impose martial law – without the consent of Congress, which need only be informed of the event "as soon as practicable." The only condition attached instructs the president to report to Congress after 14 days, and every 14 days thereafter.

SUPER-IMPERIALISM: The Shameful Legacy Of Liberal Democrats  Although corporations and centralized financial systems were the means by which economic imperialism was implemented, …it is not to the corporate sector that one must look to find the roots of modern international economic relations as much as to U.S. Government pressure on central banks and on multilateral organizations such as the IMF, World Bank, and World Trade Organization….At the root of this new form of imperialism is the exploitation of governments by a single government, that of the United States, via the central banks and multilateral control institutions of intergovernmental capital rather than via the activities of private corporations seeking profit. What has turned the older forms of imperialism into a super imperialism is that whereas prior to the 1960s the U.S. Government dominated international organizations by virtue of its preeminent creditor status, since that time it has done so by virtue of its debtor status.

Venezuela to leave IMF, World Bank Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez announced his country's decision to pull out of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, accusing them of exploiting small countries. "I want to formalize the exit (of Venezuela) from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)," Chavez said in broadcast on Venezuelan state television, calling them responsible for poverty in Latin American countries.

"We are going to withdraw ... and let them pay back what they took from us," he said, claiming that the organizations were "in crisis." "We are going to withdraw before they go and rob us," he added, issuing an order for his Finance Minister Rodrigo Cabezas to begin proceedings to withdraw Venezuela from the organizations.
Venezuela has paid back all IMF debt after Chavez’s coming into power in 1999, which has closed its offices in the country last year.

How Jewish Supremacism gags History History is not a peaceful collection of facts and trivia. History is a perpetual tug-of-war, for its re-writing may change the world. One can’t change the past, so goes the old adage, and it is true. But if we are dissatisfied with our present, we may change our understanding of past, and this will change our future. This has been known since time immemorial, and this is why history was given into custody of sacred keepers, to ensure the power structure and some continuity. Whoever controls the past determines the future. The subject of this conference deals exactly with this topic: we are dissatisfied with present, we turn to the past, and by re-assessing it we plan to influence future. If some parts of the historical narrative are strongly defended, or perverted outright, the more reason we have to attack it.

Willful Blindness, "Doublethink," and the Mogadishu Massacre Media, by and large, are absent from the seen of the crime; and, as such, are heavily dependent on second-hand information or cooked reports. Second, because most of the media groups in America are still embedded, at least in spirit. These groups diligently disseminate the official version without scrutiny. Even when they know where this runaway train might be headed, they would still defend the status quo and any wild pursuit of “peace” and “freedom” through war and chaos. And this brings me to the next point: “doublethink."

Is This Canada's Abu Ghraib? There are, to be sure, significant differences between the torture scandal currently engulfing Ottawa and the one that rocked the Bush administration three years ago. There are no gruesome photos and, unlike the U.S. abuse of Iraqi detainees, the torture in Afghanistan is being done by Canada's local allies. But in many ways this scandal is equal to the outrage of Abu Ghraib. With the photographic evidence of the abuse in Iraq, even old Donald Rumsfeld could not have pulled the straight-faced performance of Stephen Harper and Gordon O'Connor in the House of Commons this week.

Stealing from the Poor and Giving to the Rich The robbery in Iraq hardly discontinued after the "liberation". On the contrary, it intensified beyond belief. The US Government Accountability Office uncovered appalling discrepancies in the US military administration's handling of money: uncountable billions went missing; hundreds of contractors fully paid but the work never done; layer upon layer of shady companies, mercenaries and sub-contractors (Halliburton and its subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root but mere illustrations). In partnership with the new rulers of Iraq, these corporations are stealing the wealth of the once prosperous nation, leaving it in shambles.

Poverty-fighting 'deeply compromised' by Wolfowitz scandal: Oxfam International relief agency Oxfam's international director said in an interview published Monday that the charity's efforts to fight poverty have been "deeply compromised" by the ongoing scandal involving World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz is accused of peddling personal influence for his girlfriend by allegedly ordering a huge pay package for Shaha Riza at the bank, and pursuing right-wing US policy goals. "We believe that the World Bank's ability to act as a leading development institution has already been so damaged that Mr Wolfowitz's continued presidency of the World Bank is untenable," Jeremy Hobbs, Oxfam's international director, he said. Hobbs's comments come before Wolfowitz heads into a crunch meeting with a World Bank investigatory committee Monday, drawn from the full board of 24 national representatives. The committee is examining not just the Riza affair but his hiring of former White House aides to influential, and highly paid, jobs in his inner circle.

The letter, a copy of which is posted below, asks the Prosecutor to investigate whether Canada's two most senior military officials committed war crimes by allowing the transfers to take place and by not stopping them when credible reports of torture surfaced.

Islamic Monotheism (Tawheed) The Roots Of Islamic Faith, To Understand Islam, We Must Understand (Tawheed)  Literally Tawheed means "unification" (making something one) or "asserting oneness", and it comes from the Arabic verb wahhada which itself means to unite, unify or consolidate. Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism) means declaring Allah (SWT) means (Glorify is He The Most High) to be the only God who deserves to be worshipped in truth and confirming all attributes with which He has qualified Himself or that are attributed to Him by His Messenger (SAW).

· When the term Tawheed is used in reference to Allah (SWT) (i.e. Tawheedullah), it means the realizing and maintaining of Allah (SWT)’s unity in all of man’s actions which directly or indirectly relate to Him.

It is the belief that Allah (SWT) is:

The omission of any of the above mentioned aspects of Tawheed is referred to as "Shirk (lit. sharing); the association of partners with Allah (SWT), which, in Islamic terms, is in fact idolatry.

Top global scientists gather on climate change The world's leading climate change experts gathered today (Monday) in Bangkok to consider how to lower greenhouse gas emissions to save the planet from the worst effects of global warming. At least 400 experts from about 120 countries will attend the third session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the UN's leading authority on global warming. Two reports issued earlier this year said the Earth was already warming and predicted severe consequences including drought, flooding, violent storms and increased hunger and disease. The third report -- the last instalment of the IPCC's biggest investigation in six years -- will lay out ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent a climate catastrophe without seriously impacting on the global economy.

An early draft seen says that world leaders have little time to waste, but that the tools for reducing emissions already exist, with renewable energy, nuclear power, bio-fuels and reforestation all in the basket. But as wary governments lock horns on key issues, much of the draft will end up on the cutting room floor. "It's likely to be completely rewritten," said Michael Williams, spokesman for the United Nations Environment Programme.

"It's quite natural that (when) you have 120 people looking at a text that other people have written, they are going to go through it and try and put it into their own language," he added. Sticking points at the Bangkok meeting could include taxes and caps on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and any references to the Kyoto Protocol, which US President George W. Bush abandoned after he took office. Experts predict that the European Union -- which has pledged to reduce its CO2 emissions by 20 percent by 2020 -- could face off against the United States and China, the world's biggest carbon polluters.

Greenhouse effect is a myth, say scientists  In fact global warming could be caused by increased solar activity such as a massive eruption. Their argument will be outlined on Channel 4 this Thursday in a programme called The Great Global Warming Swindle raising major questions about some of the evidence used for global warming. Ice core samples from Antarctica have been used as proof of how warming over the centuries has been accompanied by raised CO2 levels. But Professor Ian Clark, an expert in palaeoclimatology from the University of Ottawa, claims that warmer periods of the Earth's history came around 800 years before rises in carbon dioxide levels.

Australian cities facing 'Big Dry' water shortages  Drought-stricken Australia faces the world's most extreme climate change challenge as millions of city dwellers try to cope with water shortages, according to the country's most recognised scientist. The government has already made the unprecedented declaration that farmers will receive no irrigation water from July in Australia's most fertile region if the country's worst drought in a century continues. Water restrictions have been imposed across the vast island continent and scientist Tim Flannery, named the 2007 Australian of the year for his pioneering environmental work, says the problem will only get worse. Flannery said the drought meant two of Australia's largest cities, Brisbane and Adelaide -- home to a combined total of almost three million people -- would run out of water by the year's end unless the so-called "Big Dry" ended. "We could see a catastrophic situation developing here by the end of the year. It's become a huge issue," Flannery said.

"Even a year ago this would have been unthinkable. I think it's the most extreme and the most dangerous situation arising from climate change facing any country in the world right now. "We have a situation where, if there are no flows in the Murray-Darling (river system), Adelaide, a city of one million people, has only 40 days' worth of water left in storage. "If we don't get any rain this year Adelaide and Brisbane may be facing diabolical problems." The drought, which has lasted a decade in parts of the country, has slowed Australia's overall economic growth by an estimated 0.75 percent as crops have fallen 62 percent. The impact on rural communities has been devastating. Many farmers have been forced off the land and counseling services have reported unusually high levels of suicide in rural areas.

Israel's Choice- "Jewish Only" Or Democratic? The time will have to come for Israel to declare its hand: is it "a state of the Jewish people throughout the world" as it defines itself, or a state of all its citizens, both Jewish and non-Jewish? So far Israel has managed to convince the Western world that it is the only democracy in the region, but neglects to add that this democracy works only for its Jewish citizens.

ISI-Islam connection is as false as ISI-Drug connection No doubt Musharraf is bluffing his paranoid masters with the mantra of enlightened moderation to prolong his rule. To believe, however, that his pet agency is working with a strategic vision for the spread of Islam would be naďve beyond the farther reaches of imagination.

Proposed changes include an oversight committee that will scrutinise the functioning of the media including its content.

Putin attacks foreign interference in Russia President Vladimir Putin said Thursday, in what is likely to be his final state of the nation speech, that foreign money is being used to help his opponents in a direct interference in Russia's affairs. Putin trumpeted Russia's booming, oil-fuelled economy and said that Russians have become richer under his rule. He had harsh words for what he described as manipulation of Russian politics from abroad. "Not everyone likes the stable, gradual rise of our country. There are some who are using the democratic ideology to interfere in our internal affairs," he said.

Putin to freeze Nato arms treaty The Russian president has said he was suspending Moscow's obligations under the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty. Vladimir Putin, in an annual speech to the Russian parliament, said the Nato signatories to the 1990 treaty were not respecting it, and the US plan to put missile systems in Poland and the Czech Republic made matters worse. He said Russia would look at withdrawing from the treaty altogether if negotiations he proposed with Nato countries failed to resolve Russia's grievances. Russia says the missile shield plan, which Washington says is intended to protect from attacks by so-called "rogue states", is a threat to its national security.

NATO seeks explanation on Putin arms control freeze NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said Thursday the alliance sought explanation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's move to suspend Russia's obligations under a key European arms control treaty. “I expect Foreign Minister (Sergei) Lavrov to explain the words of his President,” de Hoop Scheffer told a news conference ahead of a scheduled meeting between NATO foreign ministers and their Russian counterpart in Oslo Thursday. Countering Putin's arguments in a speech in Moscow that NATO states were ignoring the so-called Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty (CFE), de Hoop Scheffer said NATO members wanted to ratify an adapted version of it when Russia had fulfilled its commitments. NATO has in the past called on Russia to withdraw its remaining troops from Georgia and Moldova.

US victory in Iraq not possible: poll A majority of Americans believe victory in Iraq is no longer possible and are siding with Democrats who want a timeline for troop withdrawal from Iraq, a poll suggested Wednesday. According to the US media poll, 56 percent said they agreed with Democrats who want to set a deadline for troop withdrawal, while 37 percent sided with Bush, who opposes such a move. In addition, 55 percent said, "victory in Iraq is no longer possible," while 36 percent took the contrary view. Just 22 percent said they believed the United States was headed in the right direction in general. The lowest point was 14 percent in July 2002, well before the March 2003 invasion of Iraq, the same poll found.

US House approves deadline for Iraq troop pullout Ignoring the promise of a veto by President George W. Bush, the US House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a war funding bill that includes a timetable for pulling US troops out of Iraq. Lawmakers paid little heed to visiting top army general in Iraq, David Petraeus, who during a closed-door session earlier in the day championed the troop "surge" strategy and appealed for time so it could show results. The 218-208 vote by the Democratic-majority House links release of 124 billion dollars in military spending for Iraq and Afghanistan to a schedule for the pullout of American troops, beginning as early as October. The bill next faces a vote in Senate, where it is expected to pass, before heading to Bush who has repeatedly vowed to block the bill and blasted the attempt as a sure recipe for defeat.

Fighting rages in Somalia for the seventh straight day Fighting in Mogadishu continues for the seventh straight day despite UN call to end the fighting between Somalia government troops backed by Ethiopian forces and Islamic insurgents along with clan militias. Both sides were exchanging rockets and mortar rounds in the north of the capital where insurgents are based. Mogadishu clan leaders said Wednesday that an Ethiopian General contacted them over ceasefire deal. Ahmed Derie, who spoke to Shabelle earlier, said the clan fighters were still strong and prepared to fight with the Ethiopians. "General Gabra, the Ethiopian General, contacted us and we, as Hawiye clan leaders, appointed Abdulahi Sheik Ismail to deal with the general over the peace deal," he said. Thousands of families fled Mogadishu since the skirmishes started 19 April when Ethiopian soldiers and the Islamists clashed around Mogadishu football stadium in north of the capital. Meanwhile Ethiopian Prime Minister, Males Zenawi, said military operations to clean Somalia of Islamist extremists were going well. "I would be very surprised if it were to take us more than a week or two to completely clear Mogadishu", Zenawi added. Today's battle rages in north neighborhoods of the capital although it was not as heavy as it was yesterday, according Shabelle reporter, Rage, in Fagah neighborhood. A martyrdom attacker drove his car packed in explosives into an Ethiopian military base in south of the capital Tuesday. The number of casualties in the explosions could not be known as the Ethiopian soldiers sealed the area immediately. Source: Kavkaz Center

Mystery: How Wealth Creates Poverty in the World There is a "mystery" we must explain: How is it that as corporate investments and foreign aid and international loans to poor countries have increased dramatically throughout the world over the last half century, so has poverty? The number of people living in poverty is growing at a faster rate than the world's population. What do we make of this? Over the last half century, U.S. industries and banks (and other western corporations) have invested heavily in those poorer regions of Asia, Africa, and Latin America known as the "Third World." The transnationals are attracted by the rich natural resources, the high return that comes from low-paid labor, and the nearly complete absence of taxes, environmental regulations, worker benefits, and occupational safety costs.

The U.S. government has subsidized this flight of capital by granting corporations tax concessions on their overseas investments, and even paying some of their relocation expenses---much to the outrage of labor unions here at home who see their jobs evaporating. The transnationals push out local businesses in the Third World and preempt their markets. American agribusiness cartels, heavily subsidized by U.S. taxpayers, dump surplus products in other countries at below cost and undersell local farmers. As Christopher Cook describes it in his Diet for a Dead Planet, they expropriate the best land in these countries for cash-crop exports, usually monoculture crops requiring large amounts of pesticides, leaving less and less acreage for the hundreds of varieties of organically grown foods that feed the local populations.

Economic Armageddon Is Coming Stop being a compliant consumer. Face the ugly truth. Don’t get fooled by the stock market. Accept the need for the mistreated middle class to become the revolutionary class. The British military establishment's most prestigious think tank sees what too few over-consuming Americans are willing to anticipate. Unjustified and mounting economic inequality is planting the seeds for global economic conflict.

Ali Bekhan: What is the condition of Muslims in Assam? Can you tell us the crimes of  terrorists groups (ULFA and terrorist groups of BJP, VHP, RSS, AGP, AJYCP ) on Assamese Muslims?  Dara Shukoh: The condition of Muslims in Assam is pathetic. Considering the religious, social, economic and political scenario the Muslims have been marginalized since the so-called independence from the tyrannical regime of Britishers. The condition never improved for the local Muslim population. The discrimination has not only been towards the Muslims but other tribes as well. The current Muslim population has been undergoing a lot of crisis. The main problem has been lack of education. The people are ignorant towards Islam and that's why the Muslims in Assam lack proper orientation towards The Quran and Sunnah. Although these can be debated at length, but being an Assamese Muslim and having been lived here for the last 37years, I feel I can see the situation quite well. We, Muslims of Assam need to improve our conditions by ourselves and also in co-operation with Muslims from the Islamic World. The people of knowledge and wisdom should take active part in broadening the sphere of Islam all over. Practically speaking, the Muslims of Assam have forgotten to call people towards Islam. There are hardly any Da'ee centers. Insha Allah, I hope that the situation would improve as a number of youth are growing towards understanding the Deen.

Iran and Beyond Shi'ite vs. Sunni? If the Bush administration is successful in its current efforts to divide Islam by pitting Shi'ites against Sunnis it will revitalize the old colonial tactic of divide and conquer, and maintain the domination of the Middle East by authoritarian elites allied with the U.S. and the international energy industry. Its vehicle, according to The New York Times, is an 'American backed alliance' of several Sunni-dominated regimes, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt, 'along with a Fatah-led Palestine and Israel.' The anti-Shiite front will also likely include Turkey and Pakistan. The target is not simply Iran, but the 'Shi'a Crescent,' a term first coined by King Abdullah of Jordan. This 'Crescent' includes Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Alawi-dominated regime of Bashar al- Assad in Syria. The Alawites are of Shi'a origin. The Shi'ite-dominated government in Iraq is generally excluded because of its alliance with the current occupation forces led by the United States and Britain.

Big Business In Babies- Adoption,The Child Commodities Market Adoption was once a process by which the community took responsibility for orphans. Increased access to birth control pills and legal abortion, and a lessening of the stigma of single parenting, coupled with an increase in infertility resulted in a demand for babies that outstrips the “supply.” And where there is demand – be it for diamonds, drugs, sex, or babies – corruption follows.

Adoption is racist. The scarcity of “white American-born babies” has led to an increase in international adoptions, fracturing family ties and heritage in what some are calling cultural genocide. Madonna was criticized. Angelina confounds. Westerners, however, continue to believe that adoption “rescues” orphans; though saving children from poverty, one at a time, does nothing to ameliorate the conditions that continue to produce them. And, many so-called orphans are in fact stolen, kidnapped, or their parents were coerced to relinquish them under false pretenses to be sold on the black and gray adoption markets with prices set by age, alleged health, skin color, gender and nationality.

"Israel" Built On Ruins Of a Palestinian Homeland... The Corrupt Agenda & the Political Power of The World Bank & Its Trustees The *World Bank has been charged - it backs international corporations and " developers" at the expense of poor people in developing nations, The World Bank, co-coordinator of aid - an institution that continuously claim it has no political agenda, might fund Israeli checkpoints around a controversial separation wall under construction on occupied Palestinian territories. It appears that the World Bank of long has been actively involved in the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land - the accusations was rejected by James Wolferzon in the late 2004. Many development groups question the involvement of the World Bank and the U.S. government scheme. United States is the largest shareholder in the World Bank- the Israelis are not eligible for World Bank lending - not as one would think - because of its violent criminal conduct on Palestinian territories - but because of its high per ca pita income - the occupied Palestinians are. According to a World Bank official," the project would help the Palestinian economy - allowing Palestinian goods and workers a faster review at the checkpoints".

NASA launches satellite to study mysterious clouds A rocket carrying a NASA spacecraft was launched Wednesday on a first-ever mission to study mysterious clouds that float 50 miles (80 kilometers) above Earth. The noctilucent clouds, which cluster around the polar regions and can only been seen at night, have appeared more often and grown brighter in recent years. Scientists are puzzled by the changes, but some suggest they may be due to global climate change. The spacecraft, which will spend two years studying the ice clouds, will try to answer basic questions including why the clouds form and whether human-caused global warming is responsible for the changes.

Co-Ordination in Human Body In the human body, all the systems simultaneously work in a coordinated way and in full harmony for a definite purpose, namely, to keep the body alive. Even the smallest movements we do everyday, such as breathing or smiling, are outcomes of perfect co-ordination in the human body.

Iran nuclear talks moving towards 'united view': Larijani Iranian negotiator Ali Larijani said Thursday that talks with a senior EU official had made progress towards a “united view” on ending the crisis over Iran's refusal to halt uranium enrichment. “I think in some areas we are approaching a united view and that is to say the best approach is to have the issue settled through negotiation,” Larijani told journalists after meeting in Ankara for a second day with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.

Must Read European colonialists conspired to destroy Khilafah On Monday 3rd March 1924 (28th Rajab 1342AH), the world woke to the news that Mustafa Kemal in Turkey had officially abolished the Khilafah. That night Abdul-Mejid II, the last Khaleefah of the Muslims, was bundled in to a car with a suitcase of clothes and money and exiled from Turkey, never to return. This is how 1342 years of Islamic rule ended. The following is a historical account of the actions of the colonial powers in first sowing the seeds of disunity amongst Muslims by implanting the idea of nationalism and then finally administering the destruction of the Khilafah state by their treacherous agents.
